Re: Alumni in the Pros -- December 2006 - 17 years ago
LeNeveu started for San Antonio tonight and was named third star of the game despite a losing effort in which he gave up 5 goals. Lenny stopped 55 of the 60 shots Chicago sent his way (his Chicago counterpart stopped 18 out of 22 for the W).by DisplacedCornellian - Hockey
Alumni in the Pros -- December 2006 - 17 years ago
It's December now. A couple of recent Cornell alums connected on the power play to open up scoring in last night's Binghamton/Syracuse matchup, as Vesce netted the goal, assist to Charlie Cook. Binghamton went on to win 4-2. Elsewhere in the AHL, Ryan O'Byrne and the Hamilton Bulldogs were shut out by the Toronto Marlies, 1-0. Watching on CSTV, Davenport looked really solid in goal. I was really impressed by his positioning and the way he repositioned himself after making the initial save. Never out of position, never really scrambling, just smooth and composed. He didn't look particularly strong handling the puck out of net, but not particularly awful either. Neither goal was his fault, and to me it looked like heby DisplacedCornellian - Hockey

Coyotes playing the Kings tonight. Cujo got yanked after allowing 2 goals on the first 3 shots, now Lenny is in. He's given up 1 goal on 8 shots so far, L.A. leads 3-1.by DisplacedCornellian - Hockey

BeeeejDafatoneSeminoff, from what I remember, had some offensive skill. He just had a tendency to shoot far too often for a pointman on the PP. ...which will make him very popular with some people. SHOOOOOT! comeon, just shoot the puck!!by DisplacedCornellian - Hockey

Re: 2006 TBRW Awards -- Nomination Phase - 18 years ago
Natyshak-Paolini (career improvement)- Gleed MacFarlane (transcendent beauty and skating prowess)- Can't say there is a clear cut winner here..I'll go with McCutcheon for the few times this year he made my jaw completely drop. Shippel-Hornby (scrappiness and effort) - Topher Scott Gage (supporting role) - Louis Chabot Schafer-Bâby (leadership and passion) - Chris Abbott Belanger-Murphyby DisplacedCornellian - Hockey

Re: Cornell 0 Wisconsin 0 (end 1st period) - 18 years ago
AFter the first 10 minutes, CU started playing their game: getting the hits, winning the battles along the board, and keeping the puck away from McKee. Also looked like some of the hits got the Wisco guys wanting to hit back...I like it. And I also liked Pegs hit on Robbie Earl...diving bastard (not on the Seminoff penalty, per say...but in general)by DisplacedCornellian - Hockey
Re: Positives From the Albany Weekend - 18 years ago
jtwcornell91ugarteRich SFrench Rage What Clarkson series? That never happened. Check out this guy. He thinks Clarkson won a playoff series against Cornell in this decade. Probably also thinks that Cornell played against a school called "Sacred Heart." Actually, I think the "it never happened" thing has been overused. It should be reserved for truly embarrasing losseby DisplacedCornellian - Hockey
