Dafatone Jerseygirl Redscore yes.. i'll be honest... i haven't watched a cornell game for five years... boring. I love the school and team and I follow the team like a true fan, but I cant watch anymore. if you talk to college hockey fans, We are boring, and irrelevant. RichH Also, here's a reminder that the game isn't starting until 9:30 pm EST, because of time travel. Normal Friday night bar-crowd volume may be a factor in choosing a place given the later-than-usual start time. ...and now I'm nostalgic for the time I lived where bars were open past 10 on Fridays.by Jerseygirl - Hockey

imafrshmn so much for all the talk of austin wanting someplace to settle down with his family. hehhh. whatever I believe the Austins were interested in moving their family from the rather judgmental confines of Mississippi to somewhere more lax...and if any place can be more liberal than Ithaca, perhaps it's Canada.by Jerseygirl - Other Sports

Where do we put our roll call and viewing party inquiries these days? Or is that all handled via the Google+ circles these days or something? The Twitter? This is what happens when you stay away from eLynah for so long, kids: you come back and you sound like your 71-year-old aunt trying to comment on a Facebook photo. Anyway, Hahvahd bad. Big Red good. WHICH COUPLE IS THE MARRIED COUPLE???? THIS COUPLE IS THE MARRIED COUPLE!!!! ...is being offered for sale by a memorabilia company. Wells sold it after falling on hard times that coincided with a spinal cord disease that has left him bedridden: . Effing tragic. I think we should mobilize and come up with like $175,000-200,000, buy the medal, loan it to Wells for the rest of his life, and then I get to keep the medal because I came up with this brilliant idea. Re: Sorority Dress Code - 14 years ago
KeithK Jerseygirl HOWEVER...I take issue with this: "Boots: love. Chunky or simple/elegant. heel on the lower side to flat. Worn OVER pants." OVER pants? Really? Because that went out of style in 2008, and even before that time, I distinctly remember a conversation I had with a Barney's salesman at the store's jeans bar, where I expressed an interest in buying jeans I could wear tuckedby Jerseygirl - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Sorority Dress Code - 14 years ago
I honestly don't know how this is "news." All it is is each sorority trying to brand themselves, because rush is not exactly the time during which in-depth research about each house's sisterhood is made, deep, life-long, friendships are formed, etc. Everyone is running around superficially judging each other -- and I don't mean that in a good or bad way, it's just the process. RichH Robb I chuckle when I think of a friend I worked with in Vermont (UWash undergrad / UMich grad) who was always amazed at how into Cornell we Cornellians were. Which had to be why CU was chosen for Andy Bernard. You have to wonder if writers of "The Office" had too many close encounters with CU alumni. I thought that one of the writers was an alum? RichH Unfortunately, Lynah was left out of the accompanying photo essay. 10 photos, but two of Matthews. Stinky Tom Jerseygirl Nah, dude, like a Frozen Four game against UHN, a Lax NCAA final against Syracuse, or a basketball game against the #1 ranked team in the country to snap a 54-game home win streak. In the Lax NCAA tournament last year (don't think anyone mentioned it, apologies if someone did), Cornell pulled out two upsets just to get to the finals, including a win over number 1 ranked UVAby Jerseygirl - Other Sports

HeafDog polarit would be nice to see us pull out one of these national-caliber games once a decade. JerseygirlI really, really, really, want to see a Cornell team win a Big Game. Like Davidson? Like St. John's? Fine, so we didn't beat Syracuse or Seton Hall, but hey, like it's been said further up in this thread, we've shown we can compete! And we come from the freaking Ivy League! Re: Cornell @ KU Jan 6, 2010 - 14 years ago
That was so awesome. Cornell has been very pesky to some pretty important teams this year. Glad they finally seem to be able to hang with the big boys. Two or three years ago, the game would have seemingly been in reach at the half, with Kansas coming out of the locker room and blowing it open to bury the Big Red. Awesome showing by our boys in intimidating enemy territory. Having said that,by Jerseygirl - Other Sports

RobbJerseygirlI don't give a shit how many girls have been "more than willingly double teamed" by members of our local hockey team. What I do give a shit about is how women are made to feel ashamed for participating in these consensual sex acts. I get this, and I totally agree. What I don't get, though, is what prosecuting or not prosecuting the "men" in this case has to doby Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: The Law - 14 years ago
KeithK JerseygirlMy feelings on this are complicated, as has been made obvious in this thread. My bottom line with regard to the particular charges is this: if a law was broken and a crime was committed, the perpetrators should be punished, and the victim should not suffer blame. Prosecutors should absolutely (heh) not take a black and white, zero tolerance attitude. Prosecutors have discretionby Jerseygirl - Hockey
