CU2007 ILDN down for anyone else? For me, ILDN worked great for during the game but they failed to online stay for the stick salute after the game. Inexcusable.by Roy 82 - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82 I'll be there. I leave for Korea the following morning, but I arranged the trip so I can go to the game. Now there's a man with his priorities straight.by Roy 82 - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the Pros-Summer 2017 - 6 years ago
billhoward A point a game from Matt Buckles in the pros. You want him to do well. But not so well we don't feel he didn't play to his potential for Cornell. It's the system.by Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 6 years ago
Trotsky I'm sure there will be absolutely no reference to this incident at Lynah. Sounds like a sticky situation. ....I'll be here all week folks. Please tip your waitperson.by Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: Cornell in the Movies - 7 years ago
Perfect_Timing Years later, but.... Filmmakers have done their best to avoid Ithaca and Cornell, it would seem. I love that one of the only films on the list has been thoroughly MST'd, though. pt... and that would include the movie "Ithaca" that seems to take place in a hypothetical small American city that has nothing to do with Ithaca NY.by Roy 82 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: The Greatest Game I Ever Played In - 7 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82 css228 Jeff Hopkins '82 Larry72 by Topher Scott Some of it still hurts, but read it anyway! The Greatest Game I Ever Played In Ari '07 and I were there. I was too. FWIW, it was the second best game I've ever seen. Lemme guess on the best. May 4th/5th, 2000 Game 4 in Pittsburgh? Cause nothing can beat that for me. That was a hell of a game, too, but nope. Re: NCAA tourney - 7 years ago
BearLover Since the ECAC got tougher almost a decade ago, Cornell has won the ECAC less, made the NCAAs less, and won less once getting to the NCAAs. You're welcome to root for whomever you'd like based on wanting to see the Ivies succeed and whatnot (I personally disagree), and I won't bother to call you out on these subjective rooting interests, but objectively there's still nothing to suggestby Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: no school for 2 days - 7 years ago
No school for two days? When I was in school we walked 10 miles through snow so deep we needed straws to breathe. And we liked it. Seriously, I don't recall classes ever being cancelled back in the 80s. Maybe it is just my bad memory.by Roy 82 - Hockey

Re: Achievements - 7 years ago
Hooking In the past 20 years Cornell won 3 ECAC men's ice hockey championships. In the previous 30 years Cornell won 9 ECAC men's ice hockey championships. If you are content with these numbers good for you, but please don't defend your satisfaction with references to league change, bad hops, and all that malarky, just enjoy the status quo. I am not happy with participation ribbons in an inferiby Roy 82 - Hockey

scoop85 Jim Hyla Dafatone Yawn. ...As for Limoges, it's unfortunate as he looked like he would've been an excellent addition. I think we still have quality forwards coming in - I think Betts, Mullin, Motley, Regush, and Locke are scheduled for next year, and they've all been productive. [...must resist urge to make puns...argghhhh.....] I have been Mullin this over. All Betts are off for tby Roy 82 - Hockey

TimV I could be wrong, but I think there have been cadets from Taiwan and formerly South VietNam in the past. The admissions website states that an applicant must be a "U.S. citizen (exception: see International Admissions.)" The International Admissions page includes the statement "Up to 60 international cadets may study at West Point at any given time. Eligible countries areby Roy 82 - Hockey

Jim Hyla ugarte Rita I am a maybe, likely no this year. My sweet girl (and avatar) Abby-Bâby passed away in July at the age of 11. She had a tumor on her heart and there were no options. I have adopted a new canine companion - Eden the Elf - a four year old 40 lb black and tan coonhound mix who has separation anxiety. Good dogs. Good people make good dogs. Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 7 years ago
I just got an e-mail with a Harvard Athletics Weekly report. First time ever. Did anyone else get this? How did I get on such a mailing list? Here is their subject line: This Week: We're Thankful for a NCAA Tournament Game at Harvard! Plus, Hockey and Basketball at Home!by Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: Martha Pollack named new president - 7 years ago
From wikipedia about Frank HT Rhodes: Rhodes joined the University of Michigan faculty as professor of geology and mineralogy in 1968. In 1971, was named dean of the College of Literature, Science and the Arts. Prior to assuming the presidency at Cornell he served for three years as vice president of academic affairs at Michigan.by Roy 82 - John Spencer Is Dead

jeff '84 Under Pressure: Matt Moulson "That low output looks even worse when you consider the 32-year-old started the year reasonably well — three goals and five points in his first 10 games — before his production literally fell off a cliff." It the off season and what better time to talk about grammar. It is literally more fun than a can of monkeys. (BTW, I hope that Mattby Roy 82 - Hockey

jkahn billhoward BeeeejAnybody remember how old Dick Bertrand was when he was tri-captain for the 1969-70 undefeated team? Pretty sure he was 28. Goose, gander, pot, kettle, whatever. Dick Bertrand '70 was 29 by the time he was named coach that spring. He had to sit out the NCAAs because at that time the NCAA didn't allow older international players to compete (in the NCAAs) past a certain age. (by Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: HARVARD SUCKS - Supreme Court-packing edition - 8 years ago
billhoward Another statistical oddity: 5 Catholics on the court, had been 6 (vs. 22% of US population) 3 might be 4 Jews on the court (vs 2.2% of the population) It's 87% likely that we are in the off-season and so time for some good old-fashioned thread drift: I just want to point out that these religious labels are in some cases more accurately ethnic or social group designations ratherby Roy 82 - Hockey

Trotsky RichHI can't submit the form because my answer to the first question isn't there.I give you permission to lie and say you went to all of them. They'll take you more seriously anyway. Careful, pretending that you went to Harvard can get you into trouble.by Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: ECAC Playoff Possibilities Stuff - 8 years ago
Trotsky jtwcornell91 Sorry for the delay, folks. The last 5 months have been a bit busy for those of us in the LIGO Scientific Collaboration, so I haven't been able to keep up with my usual hockey geek activities. The stuff is up at and it might even work... Um. You discovered gravity waves. I think we can trust you with the playoff script. Congratufuckinglations by the way.by Roy 82 - Hockey
