Re: Cornell/Clarkson TV in Palo Alto CA - 19 years ago
Whoops, you are correct. It is at 5PST. I called the Old Pro and they do get DirectTV. Royby Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: Cornell/Clarkson TV in Palo Alto CA - 19 years ago
French Rage, Yes, the new Old Pro is on Ramona in downtown PA, right next to Nola's. It is not a far walk from the train station/bus center where I am sure the Marguerite stops. I didn't officially check with them but I know that they do have independent control over most of the TVs and my firend knows some of the waitresses so I am not too worried. I will check it out ahead of time and repby Roy 82 - Hockey
Cornell/Clarkson TV in Palo Alto CA - 19 years ago
Usually we Bay Area folks try to organzie a viewing event in SF to be centrally located. For the Florida game we got a turnout of 2 not including my friend who was watching the Iow State football game (Zeke's was still nice enough to give us the big screen though). So this time I am just letting folks know that I will be attempting to view the game at the New Old Pro (downtown Palo Alto not thby Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: I tried... - 19 years ago
ben03 says: they have shown an obvious discrimination towards age and IMO this will not change no matter how "legit" the media outlet. Well I am pretty sure that age discrimination is illegal. On the otherhand, I am not so sure about Age discrimination. Of course, one could consider it a capital offense but I am afraid that you are the guilty party.by Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Vermont Postgame Thread - 19 years ago
Any media-savy folks know why the Cornell xmievents broadcast comes through at 369Kb/s whilst the Colgate broadcast is coming through at a paltry 32Kb/s.? I am using Windows media player and I have set the preference to a T1 line. Royby Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 Vermont 1 (3rd) - 19 years ago
Yikes, that was close on the ahead pass to Vermont. Can the xmievents guy please turn the autofocus off. It is driving me crazy. Time out UVM?by Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: Davenport Has Left the Team - 19 years ago
According to the Cornell Hockey Database (available through the Roster link at the left) Davenport has played in 13 of the teams 15 games. Seriously, I could see why he might want to try his luck elsewhere. Sad but understandable.by Roy 82 - Hockey

Bill, At the beginning of the year I received a message from RealNetworks informing me that they could not renew my subscription because my credit card expired......I never asked to have my subscription renewed. I suspect that you are being charged. In the spirit of Mrs. Fields or Nieman Marcus cookie recipes, maybe you want to share This is the only game of the year that would requireby Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: 1/7/05: Cornell 1 Brown 1 (1st) - 19 years ago
I tuned in late to the Brown broadcast. What is up with that long commercial break during play (during which Cornell scored). I guess you get what you pay for.by Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: All-tournament team? - 19 years ago
Gionta from BC impressed me with his tenacious penalty kill and all-round hustle. I think he made the difference in the match more than others. Is Cornell lacking a Hornby-like player that can bring us to the next level?by Roy 82 - Hockey

Re: i2sports is having problems - 19 years ago
During the sign up, in the comments field I added a comment about how I disliked the confusing PayPal sign up and got a reply within a couple of days making asking if I was able to receive the feed OK. Seemed like good cosutomer service to me. Royby Roy 82 - Hockey

That last one took me a while (I knew who you meant but I couldn't figure out why). For those still struggling (probably noone), he is from the north of Britain.by Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: Cornell/Harvard Game Watch in San Francisco this Friday - 19 years ago
Sounds like much more fun than staring at my screen while I pretend to work. Now if I could just convince the guy who scheduled the Friday afternoon meeting to switch the time. He grew up in Ithaca and watched Dryden play so you think he would know better. Joe, good to see your baby bro becoming a scoring machine. Royby Roy 82 - Hockey

What's this about volunteer assistant coaches? Is Joe N. working the bench?by Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: Army @ Cornell - 19 years ago
I am getting a bad buzz on the audio. Stop/play did nothing. BTW, I hate PayPal. I had to go back to search for a credit card statement from last year just to find some damn secret code to enter. Why are they sucessful? Royby Roy 82 - Hockey

Greg Berge Wrote: CUlater 89 Wrote: All of the ceremonies are conducted in French (the official language of the IOC), English and the language of the host country. I noticed that this time around the order of the languages on the scoreboard was English, French, Greek. Not sure if they randomly order them, or if this is a not so subtle reminder as to who's running the planet these days.by Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: [OT] Olympic gold medal flap vs. Fifth Down game - 19 years ago
Ah the Olympics. the Big-O. I expected to see a mention of Cornellians and alums at the Olympics on this board but there is none. Did we have any? There was the track star from Hahvahd, the fencer from Yale and enough medalists from Stanford alone (I live about 2 blocks from Stanford) to out-medal most countries. Having been thoroughly Californicated, Beach Volleyball is one of my favoriteby Roy 82 - Hockey
Re: [OT] What Is the Rarest Single-Game Feat in Sports? - 20 years ago
Is there any sport other than golf where there is no interaction with any other player? Johnson's perfect game was not accomplished with 27 strike-outs, and even it had been the catcher and opposing team batters would have aided him. I'd say hitting for the cycle was closer to unaided. Sure, bowling a perfect game of 300 has no direct interaction (unless you are bowling against Bil Murray).by Roy 82 - Hockey
