marty dag14 I agree wholeheartedly. My family watches a month's worth of Cornell athletic events for less than the price of one hockey ticket. I do appreciate what we have. Old codgers at RPI who lost the free service might disagree. Sure do.by ursusminor - Hockey

The Rancor DL marty DL marty DL Anyone have a link to video of the scoring breakout? This! Thanks! Shame it was just highlights instead of full play time surrounding the goals, considering how short it was. 13 minutes and 13 seconds for your entertainment. What a rush. Thank you! Seriously, thank you for the highlight reel! It's always nice to see Union playing to its potential.by ursusminor - Hockey
Re: Union @ Cornell - 1 year ago
marty billhoward Also which rinks have and which viewer feeds get overhead goal cam views. This just reminded me. RPI used to have 2 over each goal. One official cam and one RPI TV cam. Maybe Ursaminor can comment, but did the RPI TV free live feed die? Are they allowed to archive the games? The free feed died because the league demanded it. I heard that they did archive games, but the weby ursusminor - Hockey

Trotsky The real solution is for CMU to go D-1 and join the ECAC. Tartans is an awesome nickname and they'd slot in between Cornell, RPI, and Clarkson for an Eng school, and we could kick out Q. Add RIT and kick out Union and now we're talking. Is there any rumor of CMU fielding a team, or did you just pick them? I suppose they could be Princeton's travel partner.by ursusminor - Hockey

Trotsky RPI up on Colgate 2-1 with 41 seconds to go. RPI won its first road game of the season.by ursusminor - Hockey
Re: Opponents and Others, 2022-23 - 1 year ago
ugarte scoop85 Word is that with 2.8 seconds left in the 2nd period and down 1-0, Colgate pulled its goalie with a faceoff in the Union zone. Union won the faceoff and a shot down the ice hit the Colgate net with 0.3 seconds left, leaving Union up 2-0 after 2.well... lol Lousy camerawork, but Farris on the draw and Young with a shot from the opposite end of the ice to make it 2-0! #retUrn pic.by ursusminor - Hockey

I give the Cornell radio broadcasters kudos for an unbiased broadcast especially compared to some ECAC teams' PBP and color men that are horrid and unprepared. And they didn't think that Ciccarello has an I at the end.by ursusminor - Hockey
Re: Polls - 1 year ago
scoop85 Trotsky We have lost a lot of Cornell brats over the years. Ethan by Kent out of Kim comes to mind. Manderville’s a nice player—I would compare him with Tukper. But Moore and especially Berniers are at a different level. About week ago, RPI received a commitment from legacy Landen Hilditch, son of Todd Hilditch ‘92. If he does show up, he will be RPI’s first legacy to play for the 'Tby ursusminor - Hockey

Beeeej Trotsky Skating Dutchmen could be the greatest logo in history if they used their imaginations. Just adapt this to a goddamn skater and you have something spectacular: There's an easy solution - just go with Das Fliegende Holländers, in the plural neuter form. Re: Opponents and Others, 2022-23 - 1 year ago
chimpfood I think it’s time for the pairwise to give more than a 20 percent bonus for away games. If you look around the ncaa this year there are some tremendous differences in home vs away record. Just in the ECAC harvard and Q are undefeated at home, we have one loss at home and are below .500 away. Even Yale is hovering around .500 at home. RPI hasn't won a game away from the HFH this seasonby ursusminor - Hockey

Trotsky The hell are the Yale Jr. Bulldogs 18U AAA and how do we get one of those? I assume that DiGiulian played for them before the Prep School season began. George64 Shane was nominated for the Hobey Baker the day before yesterday. When I tried to vote for him, I saw that last year’s winner was Minnesota State goalie Dryden McKay. Nothing like putting pressure on your kid from the opening bell - but I guess it paid off. . Perhaps McKay's father wanted him to have a lengthier NHL career than he had, having played one game for the Whalers.by ursusminor - Hockey

Re: ECAC 2022-23 - 1 year ago
It will be years before RPI can purge the legacy of Shirley out of its system. Thankfully, the new president is an RPI alum who supported the team as an undergrad and has so far this season. Also, his kids played hockey. On a related note, RPI has been playing the easiest non-conference schedule I have seen. I wonder how it prepared the team for the season. We will learn something next weekenby ursusminor - Hockey
