Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Cornell v. Clarkson Game 2 - 18 years ago
The Clarkson announcers have the "Holding? How could you call holding on him? It couldn't be him, he was visiting his poor sainted mother in the nursing home," voice down pat.by schoaff - Hockey
Re: Cornell v. Clarkson Game 2 - 18 years ago
Nice PP for Clarkson. Cornell a bit lucky to kill it.by schoaff - Hockey
Re: Cornell v. Clarkson Game 2 - 18 years ago
Maybe it was strategy. He's trying to lure Clarkson into taking all their shots from center ice.by schoaff - Hockey

My video is great, but the audio is "sputtering". I'm using the Clarkson audio now which is about 1 minute behind the video. Makes for an interesting gameby schoaff - Hockey

I'm getting great video, but the audio choppy. Just me or signal problem?by schoaff - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. Clarkson, game 1 postgame - 18 years ago
Out of curiosity, I missed the beginning of the first OT and didn't see why the first Schroedinger's goal was disallowed. Anything interesting or just the standard puck was already blown dead sort of thing?by schoaff - Hockey

So do we get to carry over the extra goal from yesterday and start with a 1-0 lead?by schoaff - Hockey

Rich S Gee, did someone blow my cover as a teacher? It has been only in the past few years and only part time after many years in corporate accounting and finance. Now THAT's a tortured environment. D'oh! I realized I misread Techer as Teacher. <Emily Litella voice> Nevermind </Emily Litella Voice>by schoaff - Hockey

Rich SI understand your feelings about wanting to feel good and all, really. I can identify. I'm never trying to take away your buzz or have you feel less good about your victories or team but a bit more balanced perspective about how things went or how the ref screwed your team would be good. To not acknowledge another team's efforts, even marginally and how they affected your own team's peby schoaff - Hockey

Rich SDeltaOne81Bill's review was highly respectful of Clarkson. Great game by both teams tonight. r board. Or just don't come here. "Leggio deserves credit for making 50 saves. We make ECAC goalie of the week out of a lot of goalies." The above was the only comment in Bill's review that I commented on. Hardly "highly respectful." Greg made the other statementby schoaff - Hockey

I think I posted on USCHO after the first Q game that I expected to see them in Albany before the decade was out. Didn't expect it to be this soon though. Lot of hockey to play though. Anyone know how the crowd was at Colgate? Are they helping their team at all?by schoaff - Hockey

RedscoreI don't know about you guys, but this guy RichS sounds like a nutcase psycho. I'm completely turned off by his inferiority complex driven posts. I don't think RichS is a psycho, but he definitely feels the need to take something important away from the Cornell fans. When I want a neutral site where I can go to discuss college hockey rationally I go to USCHO. Sometimes, however, Iby schoaff - Hockey

Jason Lill be back...time to stand up and booo the refs Don't think I've heard that euphemism beforeby schoaff - Hockey

Looks like SLU just wrapped up their game. Now 4-1by schoaff - Hockey

Bio '04more good talk about the student section from the Clarkson announcers. A sort of paraphrased/combined quote: "Different majors, different backgrounds, everyone going nuts." Different cousins too!by schoaff - Hockey
Re: cornell v golden showers, game 1 - 18 years ago
billhowardThird Cornell breakaway where the wrong camera is live and the control room (am I presuming too much of CSTV?) is slow to switch. Cornell is over the Clarkson blue line before you can see the remnants of the breakaway. I hope you're not presuming too much. We had a director and audio board back when I worked the corner camera covering High School hockey. And yeah, our director was mucby schoaff - Hockey

billhowardJordan 04Errr....how was that not 5 minutes?Right! if it came through loud and clear on the webcast, how could the officials -- whose vision is better than 320 x 200 pixels -- have missed that? I think you begged the question there.by schoaff - Hockey
Re: Ammo for Clarkson Cheers - 18 years ago
KeithKand on that note- how about "Our school doesn't need TV ads" Have you ever seen the Cornell spots during hockey broadcasts? *cringe* We'll to be really appropriate they should have a blank screen for the first 15 seconds, then 30 seconds of unsynched audio and severe pixelization, and finally a frozen image for the last 15 seconds. Then they should bill your Visa card for watchby schoaff - Hockey
Re: Polls 3/6/06 - 18 years ago
Am I the only one here who reads OCHFW*? During last Thursday's practice Dartmouth and Colgate were pretty even during sprints and passing, but Dartmouth clearly outshone Colgate during the 3 on 2 drills. Voters were disturbed that Dartmouth's Overlock deviated from his normal Saturday routine and ordered cheerios instead of his usual corn flakes but this was outweighed by the fact that Gaudetby schoaff - Hockey

ebilmesGoing into the second OT in Schenectady. Longest game in the history of D-1 Yale. (announcers talking about a longer game they had as D-2 ) I assume you mean longest game in Union history, or were they playing 10 min overtimes when we beat Yale in the '86 semis?by schoaff - Hockey

Liz '05KeithKAl DeFlorioKeithKJust the fact that he has 8 goalies listed as candidates for Goaltender of the Year in a 12 team league shows that the list isn't worth much. Almost as stupid as having 12 teams in a 12-team league playing in the post-season championship tournament.Isn't it absolutely wonderful that every division I college hockey team in the nation other than Northeastern and Merrimby schoaff - Hockey

las224This is a really dumb question that's going to show my ignorance but... what happens with this team? Is it like a fantasy sports thing just to honor the guys that do well? Or does this team actually play something against another all-conference team? Again, sorry for my ignorance They probably get a little plaque congratulating them for being selected all Ivy. Mostly it's to give SIby schoaff - Hockey
Re: Best/Favorite Cheers - 18 years ago
RichHursaminorrediceMy favorite: 1984 or 85 ECAC tournament in Boston. RPI's goofy-looking mascot is skating on the ice during intermissions. I'm sitting there thinking to myself: "what the f__K is that?" Then I hear someone in my row say: "what the f__k is that?" Immediately followed by a chorus of many chanting: "what the f__k is that?" Jordan 04Ok, completely honest question here, which requires that preface because otherwise it could come across as some type of flaming: Why does everyone pay such god-damn close attention to this? Who cares? The same reason we watch a bunch of kids whack a piece of rubber while sliding around on ice. By pretending it's important we can willingly fool our brains into producing pleasurabby schoaff - Hockey
