Re: Colgate 2/4 - 2 years ago
The Colgate pbp is very good. Playing it straight.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Dartmouth Game Thread - 2 years ago
Riddle me this. At 11:30 pm after all the games were final, we were 21 in PWR. Now we’re 19. Thoughts?by arugula - Hockey
Re: Q Game Thread - 2 years ago
Perhaps I’m missing this, but it sounds like the OT home “wins” vs Alaska count the same as the Q game. Wasn’t quality of opponent supposed to mean something or is that weighed down by the weakness of Q’s schedule?by arugula - Hockey
Re: Q Game Thread - 2 years ago
But shouldn’t the fact that the opponent was the number 1 team matter? They dropped 3 spots for a home regulation loss to Princeton and 2 spots for an ot win over q. Make sense? I didn’t want the technical explanation. I know that. I wanted a sensible explanation.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Q Game Thread - 2 years ago
Saw the drop in the pwr. Who wants to take a shot at explaining that?by arugula - Hockey
Re: First ND Game Thread - 2 years ago
I see it was changed to kneeing. Jason reported it as tripping. Was only on radio tonight so didn’t see.by arugula - Hockey
Re: First ND Game Thread - 2 years ago
Major penalty for tripping? Not familiar. Thoughts?by arugula - Hockey
Re: Men's Basketball 21-22 - 2 years ago
I know these things are mostly ridiculous, but it looks like someone or some computer is noticing. The most recent Bracketology for Hoops:by arugula - Other Sports
Re: Recruits 2023 and beyond - 2 years ago
Presumably related, though apparently not the son of, Coach’s teammate, Mark Major ‘87 also from that town.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Clarkson Game Thread - 2 years ago
9-1-1 at the break. Better than expected.by arugula - Hockey

McDonald’s confidence level is off the charts compared to earlier in the year.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Red Hot game thread and watch - 2 years ago
Iceberg jtwcornell91 Am I the only one freaking out at all of the crowd shots with no one wearing masks and everyone's mouth open? I don't know MSG specifically but pretty much everywhere in NYC is asking for proof of vaccination and then allowing people to not wear masks in those places. Wouldn't be surprised of they just had vaccination status checked as a part of normal arena entry proceduby arugula - Hockey
Re: Red Hot game thread and watch - 2 years ago
My wife and I are wearing masks for what it’s worth. I’d say no more than 10% in my section are masked. Not good. Bby arugula - Hockey
Re: Red Hot game thread and watch - 2 years ago
Interesting to see the skill and speed of BU. They are disorganized and sloppy but dangerous. We need to keep our shape and make their defense and shaky goalie work.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Interesting news about Harvard admissions - 2 years ago
On the legacy point, I was always under the impression that legacy was only meaningful if the parent alumnus also wrote a big check, like 6 figures big. Anyone have any insight?by arugula - Other Sports
Re: Yale Game Thread - 2 years ago
Yes. It was a much higher scoring era but stillby arugula - Hockey
Re: Yale Game Thread - 2 years ago
My first year was the Fawcett Edmands year. The next year, with Dadswell and the notable addition of Nieuwendyk and the notable sunstraction of the Hockey East schools, we jumped way up. Partly the upgrade in goal, but obviously other issues there.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Brown Game Thread - 2 years ago
Why doesn’t this effect (affect?) Harvard? Is it really better to lose to a good team (Northeastern, Clarkson) than beat a bad one?by arugula - Hockey
Re: Brown Game Thread - 2 years ago
Can anyone explain how we win a game and drop from 18 to 23 in Pairwise and Sucks doesn’t play and moves up a spot. I know I know it’s complicated but jeez.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Dartmouth Game - 2 years ago
+1. The Seattle Metropolitan sweaters are fabulous.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Dartmouth Game - 2 years ago
underskill All things being equal in a rebuilding year you may as well let the freshman goalie play as much as possible if you think he’s a 4 year starter Yes. That’s Schafer’s way recently with Galadja, Iles, Gillam iirc.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Dartmouth Game - 2 years ago
No my fault for adjusting the couch cushions. Maybe we found our sniper.by arugula - Hockey

Sometime you just need to be selfish. Unbelievable.by arugula - Hockey
Re: Dartmouth Game - 2 years ago
McDonald is playing fairly well but he’s got the much easier assignment as opposed to last night.by arugula - Hockey
Re: harvard game - 2 years ago
Yes the announcers were quite good. Actually informative about items like the lively boards and predicting the goal reversal. Not connected to Harvard, just local Boston guys from what the web turned up. As to the crowd, the announcers kept insisting that it was sold out. Perhaps all the tickets were sold but there were tons of empty seats. Early in the season. People aren’t back into it yet,by arugula - Hockey
Re: harvard game - 2 years ago
After taking my five minutes of being pissed off, a very heartening performance. Gibson was the difference. The save on the pp, the breakaway save. Play 10 games like that and we win 8-9. Howe will get better. He was good just not as good as Gibson. I thought we kept up with Harvard’s speed and the talent gap was not gaping. Ondrej was very noticeable as were Rego and Kempf among the new guys.by arugula - Hockey
