Re: Cornell 2, Harvard 1, Final - 13 years ago
Both goalies have matured a lot this season. They look great.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey

Reset clock for extra 4 seconds at the end of the game. Then after the buzzer, some fights. Cornell wins anyway.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey

Re: Tyler Roeszler Hat Trick - 13 years ago
Roeszler is showing a lot of poise in front of the net. Really looked good on Saturday. He sneaks in, makes his shots and gets out of there. Lets hope for lots more. Here's some video:by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Tyler Roeszler Hat - 13 years ago
Congratulations to Tyler Roeszler. First hat trick for a Cornell player since Greening in 2008. He now leads the team with 8 goals.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: Weekend v. Colgate - 13 years ago
I wouldn't say embarassed, but definitely dissappointed. Colgate has the worst PK in the ECAC. With a 5 minute major in the first period, Cornell should have scored at least one goal. Saturday's game is an obvious must win.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: RPI, Union at Lynah - possible outcome - 13 years ago
Union is probably the #2/3 team in the conference. 4 points next weekend and 2 more in Cambridge?by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Dan Nicholls - 13 years ago
In general he is okay but I don't know about playing hockey.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: RPI, Union at Lynah - pre-game from Brandon Thomas - 13 years ago
Men's hockey pre-game: No. 10 RPI at Cornell Posted 1/14/2011 6:30 PM EST Bonsoir from Lynah Rink, where the Cornell men's hockey team is getting set for its first home game in six weeks. Tenth-ranked RPI is in town, fresh off a split with the visiting North Country teams last weekend. The Big Red had an even more noteworthy weekend itself, extending its streak of blown third-period leadsby BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey

Given the way both goalies have been playing, I'm optimistic. Minimum 2 points.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: cornell 2 - Quinnipiac - 1 after 2 - 13 years ago
A fast rush and a short wrister. Very nice shot. Cornell looked pretty good for the last 2 periods. Andy Iles played a great game. First 4 point weekend on the road since January 2009.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: cornell 1 - Quinnipiac - 0 end of first - 13 years ago
The D'Agostino goal was a deflection off a J. Devin shot. Very nice. Good period for the Big Red. Much better puck control and offense than in the first. The defense is much more finesse and poke checking than last year. Works for me.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: cornell 1 - Quinnipiac - 0 end of first - 13 years ago
Cornell scored a nice goal early in the period on a give away. Almost scored a second goal with about 1 minute to go. However, they have a lot of trouble keeping the puck in their offensive end and Q seems to skate a little too unhindered in both ends. Andy Iles looks pretty good. He didn't slow down during his time away from the team. Joe Devin went awkwardly into the boards behind the Q neby BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 Colgate 3 @ Newark postgame - 13 years ago
It looks like part of Cornell's problem this year may be that the conference has improved. According to the newly posted pairwise at CHN, 8 of the top 25 teams are from the ECAC.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: Brown at Cornell - 13 years ago
Locke wrote to me and implied that he will be back later this season but was very non-specific. The team tends to be very quiet about injuries so I guess those of us off the ice should remain respectful (aren't we always!) and patient.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: Brown at Cornell - 13 years ago
Mike called it a significant upper body injury, but didn't give any details. He is quoted in the Ithaca Journal:by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: Yale 4 @ Cornell 2_ 11/19 - 13 years ago
The simple analysis: Yale is really good this year. If Rondeau can have a reasonably good year and no one goes for a midnight swim in early March, they could very well be a FF team. For Cornell, I hope Mike adjusts his approach to the game a little more to fit the skills of the players he currently has and the way the game is being referred. I'm sure he watches the films a lot and can see thaby BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: Brown at Cornell - 13 years ago
I think a best case scenario is that this will be a late blooming team. The guys are young and haven't played together a lot. It's not just execution by individuals; they need more time to gel as a team. If they are committed to winning they will do a lot to condition themselves after the end of the semester. If they finish around 6th (RS) in the ECAC, they could very well get to the conferenby BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey

jkahn Dates have been set for the Florida tournament, Wed. Dec. 29 and Thurs. Dec. 30. Is there any chance that Aaron Marvin has already left for the pro's?by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: UNH 6 Cornell 2 postgame - 14 years ago
Greenberg '97 Great, now I have something to think about during my next game on Thursday... am I looking through the net or around it? I'll get back to you. After I give up 8 or 9 goals in the process. Maybe that's what happened with Yale.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey

Re: Canadiens sign Brendon Nash to 2-Year Deal - 14 years ago
Thanks for the link eblimes. Based on what Riley said during the interview, he sounds like he would like to come back to Cornell. He definitely isn't eager to move on to Edmonton. He mentioned wanting to learn more about leadership, which would fit with him being captain next year at Cornell. Things could be pretty good: Jillson - Nash - Kennedy Esposito - Roeszler - J Devin Miller -by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
Re: UNH 6 Cornell 2 postgame - 14 years ago
Kyle Rose You know, for that matter, why not make the net and its attachment to the metal much finer so a puck can't possibly fit through, no matter how hard it's fired? I think there's a trade off between a tight mesh to keep the puck in the goal and an open mesh so visibility is good when looking through the goal. If you skate behind the net and want to be able to look at the goalies skateby BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey

BC on PK scores shorty on a clear from their own defensive zone. Rondeau misses a short hop. Doh. BC 2, Yale 1.by BigRedHockeyFan - Hockey
