Jim Hyla From The Pregame Thread Posted by: Oat (---.revip2.asianet.co.th) [ PM ] Date: January 23, 2010 09:09PM Robb And an absolutely horrible giveaway in our zone leads to UND's 2nd goal. Ugh. D'agostino brought it out way too casually from behind our net and the Sioux player just picked him clean from behind. Was it a "clean" pick? I didn't see it, but Greenby CKinsland - Hockey

Beeeej It really is a shame those things aren't transferrable. I know several people with that kind of mileage who'll never come remotely close to using it all. You can donate them to Make a Wish... and the Fisher house , among other charities. CKby CKinsland - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Browser-busting proto-KRACH thread - 14 years ago
Robb Hurry, get the KRACH posted while we're the only undefeated and untied team left in the country! (BSU is 6-0-1, having beaten and tied NMU) Ideally, he doesn't need to rush on this. Let's hope he has at least a couple of weeks to get around to it. CKby CKinsland - Hockey
Re: WHCU Radio Broadcast - 14 years ago
Personally, as a parent, I consider it my job to deal with my kids. I don't curse in front of them (and this amuses people because I swear a blue streak in adult company). I don't expect other people to alter their behavior around them. I bring them to hockey. I don't care what they hear there. It's a teachable moment, at the worst. They've heard far, far worse language walking down theby CKinsland - Hockey

Dpperk29 You don't consider sleeping with a prostitute gambling? Sure you are going to lose your money, but you might make it out without any STDs, which would be a win. You don't lose your money. You exchange it for services rendered. Just like a haircut, a massage, a pedicure, or other remunerated handling of your body. CKby CKinsland - Hockey

Kyle RoseI can't believe it's Greening's senior year already. On the upside, we're getting a senior year from him. CKby CKinsland - Hockey

Jim HylaDeltaOne81imafrshmnIf you want to be within walking distance of Lynah rink without paying a crapload for the Statler Hotel, the best you can do is stay at the Hillside Inn. It's near Collegetown, so you can easily get back on foot if you decide to partake in the nightlife. If you're a college student or not that far off in years, the Hillside Inn is considered walkable (though not an eaby CKinsland - Hockey

Re: Fond retirement wishes to Dave Nulle - 14 years ago
I ran into Dave downtown last week and he expressed a desire to keep driving for games only. But, he vaguely mentioned "rules" in the midst of a "I'm not sure" section of the discussion. He did say that it would be nice to have evenings and weekends for himself. I don't think he meant the games, but the other responsibilities. CKby CKinsland - Hockey
Re: Dan DiLeo Op-Ed in Daily Sun - 15 years ago
In the print version of the Sun, the outer layer of newspaper (so, the front page and the back page with their facing pages) was clearly the April Fool's Day issue. On the front page, the name was "The Cornell Diaries Sun". The headlines were clearly false "Keystone to be Served in Cornell Dining Halls", "Skorton Arrested on Embezzlement Charges; 600 Students Robbed Bby CKinsland - John Spencer Is Dead

Re: NC$$ games Saturday 3/28/09 - 15 years ago
So, the play-by-play for the VT-AFA game will read oddly. Won't it? Eventually, it'll say "goal, Lawson" at 10:16 or whatever, then a whole bunch of plays follow, even though it was over at that point. Weird.by CKinsland - Hockey
Re: NC$$ games Saturday 3/28/09 - 15 years ago
They ruled it a goal...so the last 6 minutes of play (or whatever) were for no reason. VT advancesby CKinsland - Hockey
Re: NC$$ games Saturday 3/28/09 - 15 years ago
Yeah, this is taking forever. It confused the announcers because the play under review happened well before the whistle, so they thought a totally different play was under review. There has to be a hole in the net if that was a goal.by CKinsland - Hockey

Re: NC$$ games Saturday 3/28/09 - 15 years ago
TrotskyUVM hits the post. Not a post...way more exciting. Puck was in the air a few inches above the ice, AFA guy sliding in crease somehow hooked his stick behind it as it seemed to be over (not on the other side of, but directly over) the goal line and flung it back out. Watching the replay over and over to see if "no goal" was correct call. Hard to tell, even from direby CKinsland - Hockey

Vermont though they had a goal...nope. First OT over.by CKinsland - Hockey
Re: NC$$ games Saturday 3/28/09 - 15 years ago
Really close to accurate quote: "If Bemidji makes is past this round, I think they match up really well against Cornell. Cornell is a big strong team, but they aren't that quick." Yeah, quick teams give us fits.by CKinsland - Hockey
Re: NC$$ games Saturday 3/28/09 - 15 years ago
Yeah. I'm watching on TV, so I'm pretty sure it's 4-1. I guess they just got used to Bemidji being the only scoring team (or, the whole thing fried the innards of their computers). Now... Bemidji going on PP off a dumb offensive zone penalty. 10:19 to go.by CKinsland - Hockey
Re: NC$$ games Saturday 3/28/09 - 15 years ago
Now 4-1. 12:40 in Third. ND going on PP.by CKinsland - Hockey

Similarly, years ago when I was serving on a grand jury, we a case in which the accused had the last name of "Badman". The poor cops couldn't stop chuckling every time they had to say "Mr. Badman". CKby CKinsland - John Spencer Is Dead

Re: Pink Uniforms for Late February - 15 years ago
Actually, I thought it looked worse in person. The pictures kind of faded the pink to a paler shade and (on my screen at least) the black is kind of browned out. In person, the pink was a sharper, more pepto-bismol color. I thought the pink and black striped socks were particularly garish. Paired with the red shorts and gloves....ugh. It was tough to watch. Shudder. I don't want toby CKinsland - Hockey
National Wear Red Day - 15 years ago
Yeah, this probably isn't the appropriate forum for this...but with a home game tomorrow it seems fitting to point out that there is more than one reason to dress in red: So, support the Big Red and raise awareness about women and heart disease at the same time. (Bonus points to men wearing red dresses, I guess). CKby CKinsland - Hockey

TimVWhere is everybody? Hiding in gopher holes, afraid to poke their heads out in case its another debacle like last night? Sacrificing chickens to ward off another collapse?
