Re: Cornell-Albany football - 17 years ago
Al DeFlorioI checked Albany's record on their web site. Kind of strange. they were beaten by Fordham, who were beaten by Columbia 37-7. So I'm not sure how good they really are. One of their supposedly big wins was over Central Connecticut, and that's a team Yale would never consider putting on their schedule. I was listening to the CCSU football show on the hartford espn radio this week. Tby curoadkill - Other Sports

Re: Frozen Four - 21 years ago
I wouldn't count on getting tickets from Cornell. After player comps, tickets for Cornell VIPs and a block for the band, there might not be any left. Keep an eye on the USCHO message board and see if you can pick some up for a reasonable price. You can always sell them again later if need be. If Cornell makes it, the band tickets will not come out of the Cornell allotment. The NCAA simply reservby curoadkill - Hockey

The CD Rich is referring to was recorded in February 2002. It is the one in copyright purgatory at the moment. Again, I'll post ordering info here as soon as it's done.by curoadkill - Hockey
Re: OT: Lax - 21 years ago
In other lax news, the ninth ranked women soundly defeated sixth ranked Notre Dame yesterday 13-5. The weather seemed to be bothering the Irish all game long and by the second half it was all Red. Cornell outscored ND 7-1 in the second, allowing a goal with 4 seconds to go. The women have now won 13 in a row at home.by curoadkill - Hockey
Re: Bertagna article. - 21 years ago
I know that the "remote control sieve" cheer has gone past the point of no return, but it still bugs me. If it that hard to yell exactly what the goalie is doing as he does it? Say "skate" as he pushes off to skate. Everytime he pushes off say "skate". Don't just chant "skate" until you feel ready to launch into a chorus of "bend over bend over bend ovby curoadkill - Hockey

Re: Hobey Voting - 21 years ago
I believe the fan voting is worth all of 1/61st of the total vote. All the coaches vote, then they add in the fan vote as if it were just another coach voting. It's pretty much a joke.by curoadkill - Hockey

It's supposed to have been out a few times. Copyright issues have complicated things even more this time around than last. As soon as I have them in my hand, it'll be posted here.by curoadkill - Hockey
Ivy Title & Cleary Cup - 21 years ago
For what it's worth, Cornell could wrap up the Ivy title this weekend. Only Dartmoth and Brown can catch us at this point. Harvard plays Dartmouth in Hanover Friday. A Crimson win puts the Green out of Ivy contention. Should the Green then defeat Brown on Saturday, they would knock Brown out of it too giving us the outright title Saturday night. However, a Harvard loss to Dartmouth on Friday niby curoadkill - Hockey
Re: How good is Lenny? - 21 years ago
I have rarely seen him stop a breakaway. Lenny put on a SHOW at Red/White during the shootout. I think he stopped four of five but I don't remember exactly. Granted that's not game conditiones etc. etc. but it was still damn impressive.by curoadkill - Hockey
Re: poor grades? - 21 years ago
Five seconds on Google produced: Data Data cataloguing grade distribution between 1965 and 2000 reveals that the number of A's awarded to Cornell students has more than doubled in percentage while the percentage of grades in the B, C, D and F ranges has consequently dropped. In 1965, 17.5 percent of grades distributed to students were A's, while in 2000, A's constituted over 40 percent of thby curoadkill - Hockey
Rock Paper Scissor? - 21 years ago
I meant to post this story a while ago, but I wonder if anyone else caught the scene at the end of warmups on Saturday? So, as you may have noticed, Pegararo seems to be "the guy" who is last off the ice at the end of warmups. He'll wait until the whole Cornell team and the opposing team is off the ice before stepping off. Well on Saturday, he cordially gestured to the Vermont playerby curoadkill - Hockey

Re: top 15 2/7 - 21 years ago
When judging the TUC criteria vs. HEA schools, remember that they all have a bunch of wins vs. current TUC Northeastern, whose winning percentage is about .350, but RPI is exactly .500. If/when NE falls out, it'll be a big help in thosre comparisons (especially vs. UNH). Also regarding the UND comparison, we still have COP left with them. Re: "This Week in ECAC Hockey" - 21 years ago
The programming listings on yesmetowrk.com has magically changed to "What's it Worth." Digital cable still says ECAC.... Re: Other Post Season Issues - 21 years ago
Last year I had a real tough time getting tickets for the band above and beyond the 25 they let in free at the gate and that was about 10am Monday morning after selection. By then I couldn't get a single ticket in Ithaca let alone the 15 I needed. If last year is any indication, the department will eat most of the CU allotment. Re: Why you (as a fan) should behave at a hockey game - 21 years ago
In my book the fans at Union are right up there with Colgate as being the most obnoxious to visiting fans. Last year at Union I had a fun time being told by security that even though I could point out the two misfits who were spending their time throwing skittles at individual band members that security wasn't allowed into the stands so they couldn't help me. After the game ended it sure was funby curoadkill - Hockey
