Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Fish N Fowl 11/11/23 - 5 months ago
This game feels like a lot of unforced errors. Eye test shows we are the better team. Need a big third period.by snert1288 - Hockey

Is the camera work different tonight than last night? Feels like I am watching from 10,000 feet. Or my eyesight is just goingby snert1288 - Hockey

The site also has us listed at 5-1 in conference. Should someone send RPI and Union a welcome basket?by snert1288 - Hockey

Atlantic Hockey and ECAC about to cancel tournaments if they haven't already. The rest will be following suit in short order, it is presumed.— College Hockey News (@chnews) March 12, 2020by snert1288 - Hockey

Snodgrass is also lucky that not many Cornell students are studying Urology (at least not yet..) because Snodgrass is a very popular technique for repairing hypospadias. I can only imagine the taunts...by snert1288 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. Princeton--ECAC Semis - 6 years ago
redice Trotsky I'll bet that 9-goal game Friday made a handful of kids Cornell fans for life. That's how it's worked for me... I went to my first CU games (as a teenager) during Ned's tenure. 9-1 games were not uncommon.... I was quickly hooked!! My first game was a 1-0 win at Princeton to start 2008 season. The first of Scrivens’ pair of shut outs to start the season. 9-1 wins are bettby snert1288 - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac QF Game 2 - 6 years ago
BearLover Trotsky Memory lane: Cornell's only prior SF vs Princeton. One of the best games in Cornell history, IMO. Princeton was 8th in the country and the defending champions, and if my memory serves me correctly Cornell likely had to win this game to make the NCAAs. Barlow's coast-to-coast goal with under 3 to play is possibly the prettiest Cornell goal I've ever seen, and then Riley sent it tby snert1288 - Hockey
Re: Colgate vs. Cornell home-and-home 1/19-20 - 6 years ago
Matt Galajda with back to back shut outs and a scoreless streak just over 160 minutes (and counting). Very impressive for this freshman against a good Colgate team. The wins are most important but I love the sense of quality goaltending continuing in to our future.by snert1288 - Hockey

Not sure where to post this or if they have been teaming up every year. But, Garman and Scrivens are running a goalie camp!by snert1288 - Hockey
Re: cu- lowell - 7 years ago
The too many men did appear obvious! Gotta score oneby snert1288 - Hockey
Re: cu- lowell - 7 years ago
Good call waving off UML short handed goal. Looks like at least 5 (probably 6) men on iceby snert1288 - Hockey

He was apparently commended post game by MacLean for his physical play.by snert1288 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - October 2014 - 9 years ago
Greening was a healthy scratch "Head coach Paul MacLean says the three healthy scratches know where they stand. 'Yesterday we had extensive conversations...at this point in time we can only play 20 guys,' MacLean said. 'Based on how training camp went, the best 20 players are in the lineup tonight.'"by snert1288 - Hockey
Re: Red Hot Hockey - post-game - 10 years ago
I was at the game last night and thought that the team did have a lot of energy. Especially on defense we were really competing. The one exception being Joel Lowery. He looked slow and lazy through much of the game as I saw it. Often he was waiting for the puck to come to him only to allow a BU player to catch up and intercept it.by snert1288 - Hockey

A nice mention of our 2010 ECAC run!by snert1288 - Hockey
Re: Should He Stay or Should He Go - 11 years ago
Of course you would. But, Douglas was drafted in the 8th round of the NHL draft and Matt was taken in the 2nd round. Also, we have no way of knowing if Matt Carle could even have met the academic standards at Cornell. Gwozdecky doesn't get to just turn Cornell into Denver, as several other people have said.by snert1288 - Hockey

I would not count out David Taylor for Hodge next year.by snert1288 - Other Sports

And now Ruth overtakes Dake, 47% to 45.5%. There is no way Dake doesn't get this award, right?by snert1288 - Other Sports

And now 5-4, lost 4 face-offs in a rowby snert1288 - Other Sports
Re: Red Cast Really Sucks - 11 years ago
Is there a reason that Redcast for lacrosse has replays, but for hockey it does not?by snert1288 - Hockey
Re: Quarterfinals at Q - 11 years ago
Everything I've seen from Iles tells me he is a tough competitor. I would not be surprised if he advocated to coach to put him back in. It was his game and he would finish it. That said I think it was smart to spare him part of that second period.by snert1288 - Hockey
Re: Quarterfinals at Q - 11 years ago
If McCarron is out then Russel Goodman should be too. He got two game misconducts on one play and a total of 30 PIM.by snert1288 - Hockey
Re: ECAC Playoff Series on the Road - 11 years ago
I know in 2008, 2010, and 2011 the #1 seed lost in the QF. So, it has not been uncommon in recent memory.by snert1288 - Hockey
Re: 2013 ECAC Playoff Permutations - 11 years ago
And it certainly helps if Colgate, Ferris State, and CC stay TUC.by snert1288 - Hockey

Not to anger any woofing gods, but I would not mind seeing Brown either.by snert1288 - Hockey

If I remember correctly one of the Cornell players had 2 goals in that game and I had visions of all those crowns flying onto the ice!by snert1288 - Hockey
