Old hockey programs 2000-2009 - 1 year ago
I'm cleaning out closets & have found a large stack of Big Red men's hockey programs from 2000 to about 2009. Is there any person/place that might be interested in these or do they go to recycling? I see many old names here from years gone by, so I'm assuming you all have your own store of programs, but thought it would be worth asking!by REDhead - Hockey
Re: 2010 NCAA hockey regional ticket situation - 14 years ago
Just called the Ticket Office, there is a message from Gene saying that tix for NCAA ice hockey in Albany will go on sale Tuesday. Expecting a high demand so tickets might be sold via lottery. More info to be posted Monday on cornellbigred.com or thru message on 254-BEAR. No info on cost or section. (btw, basketball on sale tonight via fax; form obtainable on the website)by REDhead - Hockey

The Red/White scrimmage is absolutely positively definitely happening at 7 p.m. Saturday October 17. Free youth tickets are being distributed through the schools; but any youth wearing IYHA or TGHA jerseys, or Sports camp tshirts will be admitted free. Actually any kid 14 and under who shows up at the door will get in free. Students 15 and over cost $2 and adults $3 at the door. We'll get theby REDhead - Hockey

TWCNY offers the NHL network on the "Sports Tier" package, and will be airing the NoDak game tonight at 8:30 on channel 244. Cost for the package is only $1.95.by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ NoDak, Friday, Nov. 28, 2008: Ithaca - 15 years ago
For anyone in Ithaca and those in TWCNY cachement area--they will be airing this game on Channel 244, NHL network, available as part of their "Sports Tier" package--costs $1.95 per month.I sign up every college hockey season and then drop it--it's a great bargain!by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Tickets for Thursday @ Colgate - 15 years ago
Well, we're putting the package on discount to fill up those last seats! We're also willing to sell just rink tickets for the face price of $9. If interested, dkc840@hotmail.com.by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Tickets for Thursday @ Colgate - 15 years ago
Since we're talking tickets not on the ticket forum--let me add to a post I just made there. If you would like to make this road trip without the hassle of driving yourself, there are a limited number of seats available on the CHA bus to Colgate. The bus will be leaving promptly at 3:30pm Thursday from the back parking lot of the Clarion Hotel off N. Triphammer Road. If you've never been onby REDhead - Hockey
Re: Cornell -0 vs RPI - 0 game thread - 17 years ago
Anyone have a link to the webcast (video)? It's mentioned in the thread below ("Gatherings to watch 2/10...webcast) but no link up on RPI alumni site as promisedby REDhead - Hockey
Re: Roll call for Colgate - 17 years ago
The equipment guy forgot to pack them. McLeod (who wasn't on the team last year) drove them up (he was partway to Hamilton when he got the call; had to go back to Lynah to grab the jerseys, and race back up).by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Bowl with the big red? - 17 years ago
Yup, Bowl with the Big Red is tonight at Helen Newman, starting 7 pm.by REDhead - Hockey
Re: What's the word on Moulson? - 17 years ago
Sally Moulson was at Lynah tonight, says Matt is doing great, scored his first pro goal vs. the Providence Bruins tonight. Matt will be in the area Feb 21 playing the Binghamton Senators...and the family is still working on adding another Moulson to the Big Red roster (Chris)...maybe next year (?)by REDhead - Hockey
Re: New Forum Design - 17 years ago
Just weighing in, Age, and this color scheme definitely gives me retinal burn whereas the old one did not. It's painful! I second RazzBaronZ's suggestion, choice of color schemes, if possible? On the design, links feel weird on the right to me as well, but I can get used to that--it's the staring-at-the-sun-without-sunglasses feeling that gets to me....by REDhead - Hockey
RED/WHITE GAME FRI 10/13 7:30 pm - 17 years ago
Just wanted to remind everyone that the annual Red/White game, sponsored by the CHA, will be held this Friday October 13 at Lynah starting at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $3 adults; $2 students, available at the door. This will be our first chance to check out Lynah renovations with the team on the ice. In addition to the scrimmage, there will be a shoot out. Raffle prizes this year include a Big Redby REDhead - Hockey
Re: New Lynah Photo Slideshow - 17 years ago
Here's what I know about what's been brought up on this thread.... The "premium" seats on the walkway are premium because they have a back. There will be one row of seats, not two, and the "walkway" will not be used as a walkway, but only to access seats if you are a ticket holder for those seats. In other words, the rest of us can't use it as a through-way for that end ofby REDhead - Hockey
Re: Section C Diaspora - 18 years ago
I believe that current section C folks will be offered 1st crack at the new seats at the scoreboard end of the rink...otherwise the thought is, that if C goes back to students, there will be a student shift over to the lower alphabet sections, freeing up more room in G and H....by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Cornell game pushed back to 6pm? - 18 years ago
Start is pushed back to 6 pm--guess the other game went a little long, at least that is what Jason W. is saying on the radio...by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Time Warner to televise semis live - 18 years ago
thanks, Andy, you beat me to it! Thanks to everyone who called or emailed Doug Logan, and kudos to him and Time Warner for responding to hockey fans and making this happen! LGR!!by REDhead - Hockey
Re: CORNELL on TWC INFO - 18 years ago
The game won't be on the Sports pack (tier) at any time but rather will be on ch 26 tape-delayed at Sunday 11 a.m. FYI, the Sports Pack is only $4.95 per month, we get it for hockey season and then cancel it. You can get partial months...but it's cheap and well worth it for longer if you're into college hockey.by REDhead - Hockey
Call/email to get CU game live on Time Warner - 18 years ago
Thought this might merit highlighting in a separate thread--posted on the other TW thread but afraid it would be buried: Just spoke to Time Warner Sports Dept. They will only provide tape-delay of CU vs. CC at 11 a.m. Sunday on channel 26. It will not be offered on the Sports Pack as claimed upthread. The rationale is that they have been committed "for months" to the Syracuse Cruby REDhead - Hockey

A place for post game celebration (hopefully) in Albany - 18 years ago
In hopes that we will win on Saturday, and in hopes of avoiding a repeat of the Jillian's situation of last year (when under-21 y.o. team members were not allowed in) I've done a little advance scouting. Manager Joe Schafer (must be karma...) of the Skyline restaurant & bar is more than happy to welcome the team and Lynah faithful for a post-game celebration. Under-21s will be allowed in,by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Post-game beer on Friday and Saturday - 18 years ago
Trotsky, totally agree with you! Also in '03, band was there with us to greet the team at the hotel, in '05 they went home. I'd rather not be atomized or give up, so wonder if there are any walking-distance alternatives to Jillian's. Anyone?by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Albany Parking - 18 years ago
Really? I was at the door for about half an hour with players and parents and I never saw any cops nor did any speak to the parents who were trying to intervene...guess it would explain, though. Cops or not, the Jillian's staff were jerks about how they treated us, left a bad feeling. I wouldn't anticipate that they'd be the go-to place this year....by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Albany tickets in the Cornell section - 18 years ago
To clarify my earlier post, tomorrow the students will be sold seats in the same corner of the rink as the townies tickets today....Our corner this year is the 101-104 sections. Certainly we'll be in a bloc all together, although it seems that Pepsi has sold some of the seats in those sections through its own box office, because at the CU ticket office today not all the seats in each section weby REDhead - Hockey
Re: Albany Parking - 18 years ago
What kind of prices do the garages around Pepsi charge? Do you think I could find on-street parking around 6:30? The option of driving across the river and parking and taking the shuttle bus has changed some this year. Formerly no charge, parking will now cost $5. The shuttle bus continues to be free, will leave every 10 or 15 minutes. Shuttle will continue to run until one hour past the end oby REDhead - Hockey
Re: Albany tickets in the Cornell section - 18 years ago
Just came back off the ticket line and seats are indeed in 103-102-101...(what in past years was the Sucks section)... Today's line is for townies only. Tomorrow's line is for students. Each of us gets our own section...with random others thrown in (Pepsi has been selling seats in these sections and we were sent what's left....)by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Starr: Cornell 0 Colgate 0 (pregame) - 18 years ago
This from a buddy at Starr Rink--the Big Red just came out for the skate around minus hockey jerseys--wearing long sleeve shirts & pads---looks like equipment snafu...McLeod is driving up with the unis.....altho, of course, the team could outfit itself with sweaters from the Faithful up there to watch the game (!)by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Bus trip to Niagara 11/26! - 18 years ago
I sent confirmation of ticket orders on October 17 and then again yesterday with trip details...if you didn't hear from me, I didn't get an email from you. I've only had two emails from eLynah folks so far. There are still a few bus seats left. If you are interested, let me know how many bus tickets you need *and* if you need game tickets.by REDhead - Hockey
Re: Bus trip to Niagara 11/26! [BUMP] - 18 years ago
The CHA bus trip still has room! Tickets are $15 for the bus. Game tickets, if needed, are $12 for adults and students, $6 for kids under 12. We have tickets available in section 123, behind the Big Red bench. The bus will be leaving at 2:30 pm and there will be a meal stop on the way to the arena. If you're interested in making the trip, email me! The "Cornell Club thing" is, Iby REDhead - Hockey
