Holy smokes, Yale sure can score in bunches. Now 4-4 with about 6 minutes left.by imafrshmn - Hockey

Re: Letter from MetaEzra - 14 years ago
mnagowski 5) changing undergraduate demographics I'm interested in this effect, if it is indeed real. Are you asserting that there are less white students (in absolute numbers) now than there was some years ago and those minority factions are not as interested in school sports ? I think the more important type of demographic shift here would be in student subculture membership. Bluntly speakby imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Yale 2 at Cornell 1 (OT) postgame - 14 years ago
Last time we lost an overtime game at home, it was March 9, 2007 vs Q. The glaring weakness of this Cornell team is finishing ability. We had a decent number of high quality chances that were squandered.by imafrshmn - Hockey

If you want to run with the idea, retitle the thread "Yale Pregame".by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Cornell 5 Brown 3, postgame thread - 14 years ago
Beating Yale would be an exorcism of a hockey demon--certainly for Scrivens. It also might be our only way of getting to the tourney as an at-large.by imafrshmn - Hockey

Princeton 3 at Clarkson 4 Yale 6 at Colgate 3 Rensselaer 5 at Harvard 4 Quinnipiac 5 at St. Lawrence 0 Union 5 at Dartmouth 4 Never know what'll happen in the good ole ECAC.by imafrshmn - Hockey

Outright Ivy League Champs! Go Red women! And congrats to Amanda Mazzotta for yet another shutout.by imafrshmn - Other Sports
Re: Which jersey would you rather wear? - 14 years ago
fatchance72 What year are you? I ask because when I bought my jersey, I made sure to pick a 2010 graduate, like me. Now that I remember, for me it was between #27 (Gallagher) and #24 (BNash). #15 (Greening) was already taken. I went with the red #27. Excellent choice.by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Princeton Post-game - 14 years ago
Josh '99 HeafDog A-ronI'll let you guys discuss the play but here's my opinion of the fans at Princeton: bad. Not to mention downright assholish. Some guy all of a sudden, from out of nowhere, started shit with me with a few minutes to go. Thanks to Mitch and Novikoff, et al., for having my back and shouting the guy down.Oddly enough (considering that Princeton has no fans), that seems to happeby imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Princeton Post-game - 14 years ago
billhoward We've got six games left, three of them crucial, next week vs Yale, a week later at Harvard, and the final Friday vs. Union. 6-0 would be awesome but I think 5-1 would be pretty good, and 4-2 would start to be disappointing. Based purely on KRACH (overall, not solely ECAC play), our expected points for the remainder of the season is 9.9. Mind you, we actually have seven games remainby imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Cornell Women's Hockey - 14 years ago
The ladies have two remaining Ivy games: At Brown and At Yale. All they need is one more point to take the Ivy title outright.by imafrshmn - Other Sports
Re: Cornell 2 Quinnipiac 0, post game - 14 years ago
When it comes to goaltenders in the ECAC, the pool is not as strong as it was a few years ago. Scrivens in net is a significant advantage for the Red against most league teams this year, and was the difference tonight. The two goals that Clarke let up would have probably been saves for Scrivens.by imafrshmn - Hockey

A Dartmouth win tonight would be a big help for us in the Ivy race.by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Cornell Women's Hockey - 14 years ago
mattj711 Cornell down 1-0 after 1 to Clarkson. Cornell played great that period and definitely controlled play through the first half of the period. Clarkson goal came after Cornell killed off a penalty with about two minutes left in the period. Gotta love the WCKN broadcasters. When they took a look at the "out of town scores" monitor, there was a mistake: Cornell men were shown aby imafrshmn - Other Sports
Re: Review of Lynah Rink - 14 years ago
ebilmes Read the bottom. Apparently Lynah is too cold for North Dakotans. I guess they've never been to Starr rink.by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: North Dakota Postgame 1/23 - 14 years ago
Larry72 Art said as he always does when Cornell scores its first goal at home: "The Cornell goal..." Same cadence with no variation! I have only watched a college hockey game away from Lynah at Starr, but I would guess that we have one of the most reserved (classy) PA announcers anywhere in Arthur Mintz. When he announces the Cornell starting lineup and Cornell goals, his clear annby imafrshmn - Hockey

Re: North Dakota Postgame 1/22 - 14 years ago
ansky629 Was that Scrivens' best performance of his career? Off the top of my head I can't think of a game where he played better. He was on every puck from the start of the game when NoDak had that quick shot on net. Really impressive effort by him - especially considering that the rest of the team didn't step on the ice until the end of the 2nd period. His effort in the 1-0 shutout of St.by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Latest Cornell football candidates - 14 years ago
CornellChris Fourth, Cornell has won NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS in football. I don't care how many decades ago they were, they still happened. Ivy League schools, more than any other, should appreciate the importance of respecting and honoring our history. Giving up and disbanding a once proud program does not honor that history. Rehabilitating the program and putting in the time, energy, and resourcby imafrshmn - Other Sports

If the atheltic recruiting aid disparities continue in the Ivy League, so be it. Academics can't take a back seat to athletics, ever.by imafrshmn - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Cornell 1 at UNH 0 (end of 1st) - 14 years ago
For what it's worth, I've been watching the UNH online stream. Video's been decent resolution and smooth, audio is rough but doable, and the announcers are fine. The cameramen are also very competentby imafrshmn - Hockey

Coach Schafer (Ithaca Journal) "We couldn't have played any worse in the first two periods," Cornell coach Mike Schafer said. "Tonight really showed that a lot of our guys went home from break and didn't get a lot of work in."by imafrshmn - Hockey

We're a terribly overrated hockey team. Forget frozen four; I'm not sure if they can make the Albany four.by imafrshmn - Hockey
