Re: UNH, BU and Cornell byes - 22 years ago
KeithK '93 wrote: Like I said, if it could happen I would absolutely LOVE to see it.Except that then Cornell would probably wind up going west. BU is the host, so they have to stay east, and with UNH being #1 in PWR now and probably still being #1 at the end of your scenario, the committee would have a hard time sending them. At lease, I GUESS that's the way it'd wind up working out.by Josh '99 - Hockey

KeithK '93 wrote: Aside from the obvious advantage to having a bye I would absolutely *love* to hear all of the howling from out west if Cornell and 2 HE schools were to get byes. Wow, did you find a way for Cornell and UNH and BU (or Maine, I suppose) ALL to get byes? Man, the western posters on USCHO would BITCH about that.by Josh '99 - Hockey
WAY OFF-TOPIC: Re: Poll on Arthur - 22 years ago
OK, see your point. The other problem is, it was marketed as a sitcom, which it really wasn't. And the laugh track?by Josh '99 - Hockey
Re: Poll on Arthur - 22 years ago
Not sure what that has to do with anything..?by Josh '99 - Hockey

Such a great show. Can't figure out why nobody watched it.by Josh '99 - Hockey

But you're right, Knopp was damn impressive.by Josh '99 - Hockey
Re: PWR after Saturday - 22 years ago
Looking at JTW's You Are The Committee scripts, it looks like there's actually a conceivable set of events (that is to say, not requiring tournament wins by Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Lowell) that would result in a bye for Cornell. I don't have the patience to try ALL the possibilities (I can't imagine the MAAC tourney is gonna have a whole lot of bearing on this, since Cornell hasn't played anyby Josh '99 - Hockey

Re: Yale v. Cornell - 3/8/02 - 22 years ago
Grrr. You had to point out my typo, eh Beeeej? Yes, I know Yale has a faster team than Cornell. But so does Harvard, and Cornell lit them up pretty well. Anyway, it was more of an expression of frustration than an actual question.by Josh '99 - Hockey
Re: PWR after Friday - 22 years ago
Yes. 18-18-2 and eliminated from the HE Tourney. And unlike Union, I don't think they played Findlay. (Who, by the way, lost to the US U-18 team 11-2 tonight.)by Josh '99 - Hockey
Re: Yale v. Cornell - 3/8/02 - 22 years ago
Great game tonight... Always easier to say that when your team comes out on top, of course. As jy3 said, Yale's forecheck was working really well. What I can't figure out is, why (from the way it looked to me) did they stop forechecking after they scored? It was working very well for them, and it really seemed like they scaled it back a little bit, and didn't generate as many scoring opportunby Josh '99 - Hockey

Speaking of the SI Jinx, Charles Barkley is on the cover this week, and the readers are the Jinxed ones. Put some clothes on, Charles!by Josh '99 - Hockey
Re: It just HAD to be him, didn - 22 years ago
How do you figure? I thought the SI Jinx only affected people who were on the cover.by Josh '99 - Hockey
It just HAD to be him, didn't it. - 22 years ago
Who's that in Faces In The Crowd in this week's SI, sandwiched between a softball pitcher from UH-Hilo and a XC runner from a high school in Nevada? Oh look, it's Jamie Herrington, mentioned for his last minute goals on back-to-back nights against Cornell and Colgate a few weeks ago.by Josh '99 - Hockey
Re: COTY - 22 years ago
Looks like it's just their picks for the winners... "Time to hand out our awards. We've seen quite a few games this season and this is based on what we saw, as well as reports and talks with others around the ECAC." I don't think the award winners are announced until the banquet next weekend.by Josh '99 - Hockey

The best I can do is that either it's from the Union game last fall, and that's Brandon Snee, and the uniform just looks very dark because of a trick of the lighting, or that it's the home game against Brown from last season, and thby Josh '99 - Hockey

Graham Meli '02 wrote: Is that necessarily true? The computer rankings make no distinction between a loss in the first round and a loss in the finals. Re: PSA: Do not climb over seemless glass - 22 years ago
There wasn't any announcement last year, at least not that I recall; they had the zamboni doors open and pretty much just directed anyone who wanted to go out on the ice to go through them rather than climbing.by Josh '99 - Hockey
