Gametracker was current until the last 3:40; 26-20 Cornell at the half, after Cornell went dead cold in the last four minutes.Jordan 04

Cornell up 26-20 at the half. A slow paced game works in our favor, but will we be able to continue to play this way after the half?

Both offenses look terrible. We need to keep playing this half-court pace. Bad things happen with big athletic teams get quick points off turnovers. That being said, we definitely look to be the better team. Now if we can hang onto a second half lead...

You're correct. my GameTracker was lagging at the time. I think I'm done watching this game. Too hard to have a sense of bearings with no radio play-by-play and a slow GameTracker. Thanks for the heads up though OP; it was nice to be able to see the team in action.

It's 38-27. I'd recommend people watching the video to have ESPN's live box score up. It's almost in sync with the video. I have it on a 90 second refresh and am pretty much using it as a scoreboard.

Last time was 37 years ago.

• Cornell’s last win against an SEC team came in 1972-73 when it defeated Arkansas, 78-77, in the first round of the Razorbacks’s own invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.

The caveat, of course, being that Arkansas wasn't in the SEC in 1972-73... it was in the Southwest Conference.

Some interesting post-game quotes on the Alabama web site: [www.rolltide.com]
Never thought I'd see a comment like this one (by JaMychal Green, Alabama's big forward) about a Cornell basketball team:
On Cornell’s inside presence:
“No. 1 (Jeff Foote), he was huge – 7-foot-1 I believe. No. 33 (Alex Tyler) was strong. They had a good interior inside. I felt that our post fought hard even though we were undersized.”

Don't know if it was the last road win against an SEC team (at the time, unlike Arkansas in 1972-3), but the Walt Esdaile-led team of 1966-7 won at Kentucky on December 28, 1966. Somehow I was able to pick the Kentucky broadcast up on my car radio in Yorktown Heights, NY. 91-77, or something like that, was the final score. The Kentucky announcers were besides themselves.dbilmes

Lot of memories in that box score. Considerable talent on that Cornell starting five, but a season-ending loss at Princeton cost them the Ivy championship. Gregg Morris was a jumping jack a la Syracuse's Dave Bing, and the two did go head-to-head on the court. Blaine Aston scored the last-second game-winner to beat Bill Bradley at Barton two seasons before. John Sponheimer, one of only two Cornell subs to score, was an all-Ivy lineman on the football team, and we'll likely never see that two-sport combination again. Not much scoring off the bench for either team.
Lily-white Kentucky had been NCAA finalist the year before, losing to Don Haskins's Texas Western team that started five blacks. Pat Riley didn't let a loss to Cornell hinder his Hall of Fame career.

Sunday 11/29: Alabama 68, #15 Michigan 66. Alabama plays (and loses) to good teams early on, it toughens them for tests like this.
