Cornell made it in there at number 38 for Pete Gogolak's soccer-style kicking and number 35 for forfeiting the game to Dartmouth because they had a 5th down.

Sorry...it was by Ivan Maisel on espn.com.

And just in case anybody was wondering, number one was the Doug Flutie hail mary. One of my personal favorites, Boise State's trick plays last year, finished 15th.

Ah, right. ESPN continues to remind us that if it happened in Boston or involved a Boston team, it's automatically more important than if it didn't. :-|

But what did Colorado get for not forfeiting theirs?

Colorado's 5th down win got them number 51 and (if memory serves) a national championship.

There's this amazing thing called a URL that allows you to direct other people to the article itself...

Frankly, I don't think the 5th down forfeit in any way "defines" modern college football. The Miami brawl last year might be a better candidate.

More like defies ... (without the quotes)

Sports Illustrated: Miami is the school where the team picture is taken from the front and both sides.
