I know they have no meaning but lets predict the top 10.
1.) Minnesota
2.) Wisconsin
3.) Miami
4.) BU
5.) MSU
6.) Cornell
7.) BC
8.) Colorado College
9.) Maine
10.)Denver
I see MSU making a huge jump after the sweep over miami. Cornell should stay around the same, wouldnt be suprised to see them move up one. Depends on how high the voters want to move MSU up. Its wierd but that loss to harvard really didnt hurt us all that much seeing how many other teams had tough weekends.

True, but the distince in the poll between teams ranked 5-9 is smaller than the distance between us and the North Dakota(ranked 10th).

Frankly, I'm just glad that our lack of front-page attention on USCHO has carried over into these past few games of woe.

I could have sworn we were the lead article after the Dartmouth win.

If that's the case, then I stand corrected (my connection went down during the 3rd period of that game and was out for 2 days) and am even more grateful that they chose an upbeat article for our turn on homepage.

USCHO NCAA predictions..
West Regional:
Alabama-Huntsville vs. Minnesota
Maine vs. Cornell
could we get a worst matchup? Maine first round followed by MN if we get back Michigan....though a win against Minnesota would be o so sweeet

If this trial bracket holds for more than, say, 36 hours, what a sweet trip it would be if we won the opening weekend: knocking off Minnesota (regional final) about three hours away from where Custer got his, followed the next week by a Frozen Four semi where it would be sweet to meet any of them: head-of-stateless Harvard, BU (do we reverse the cheer to "Screw BU, Harvard too"?), Michigan State, or Ohio State (whose number we have, so maybe they'd be looking for the rematch).

I know a lot of people complain about how we get screwed by being sent west, but its not like we're the only ones being sent out there. Holy Cross and Maine join us from the Northeast and I don't think Alabama-Huntsville is exactly close to North Dakota either. Thats roughly 4 teams being sent to the western regionals from either the Northeast or the South. On the other side of the coin, how much do you think Nebraska and Michigan St. want to travel to Albany or Worcester? Throw in Ohio St. and Miami which don't often come this far East (even if they're not that far away) and everything just seems messed up. I know I'd rather have the team playing in Albany so I could have the chance to go and see them but if it doesn't work out like that I'll take comfort in the fact that we're seeded higher than Harvard

If UMD could beat (fairly easily) the Maine I saw in Florida, I feel confident that a match-up vs. Maine wouldn't be THAT bad...though I would prefer it weren't in Grand Forks or the like...
