Sharks sign right wing Iggulden to two-year contractAssociated PressSAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Sharks signed right wing Mike Iggulden from their American Hockey League affiliate to a two-year contract Monday in an effort to upgrade their offense as they try to stay in the playoff hunt.
The Sharks (20-17-5) headed into their game Monday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning in 11th place in the Western Conference, eight points behind the eighth-place Edmonton Oilers.
Iggulden is a first-year pro who spent training camp with the Sharks and earned a professional tryout contract to play for the Barons, the Sharks' top development team. In 43 games for Cleveland this season, Iggulden was fourth on the team with 30 points, including 13 goals - 14th among AHL rookies.

Not clear if this means he was called up, too? Perhaps my reading comprehension is failing me in my 30's and this is implied in the first sentence. If so, it will be nice to see him play alongside of Doug.
Doug's minutes seem to be slipping a little bit but I haven't read anything negative about his play.

I suspect that it doesn't mean he got called up. Judging from the Iggulden interview someone posted on another thread this just means thathis rights are owned by San Jose and not the AHL organization. Well, it probably means more money, a two year guarantee and a much better chance of being called up. But not necessarily yet.

Sound about right. Although I wouldn't mind if I got to see him in Worcester a couple times first . There's a decent chance it'll be more than that too.

Yes, he's still in Cleveland - but his rights are owned by San Jose. I'm sure he's got a 2-way contract (because it's entry level also), so I'm not sure if he's making all that much more at the AHL level, but if he gets called up now, he'll make at least $450k (league minimum). W/o the NHL contract, he would not have been able to be called up at all. I'm not exactly sure about this, but w/o the NHL contract while playing in the AHL, I think any NHL team could've offered him a deal and moved him to their AHL affiliate. So San Jose is also protecting its interests in this case.
Ryan Vesce had got even better numbers in Springfield (TB's affiliate) but I don't think any NHL team has signed him yet.
