Might as well get to the new season. As in the past, if you hear of something, let me know and I'll add it. I have to believe that TW, with strong ties to Albany, Syracuse and Rochester, will put on some games, maybe MSG.

Ken Schott reports that the 1/18 game at Union will be on TW in Capital District. Hopefully CNY picks it up.
I think I need more sleep. My first reaction to that was, "Man, 3:20 is a really short game."

Doc Emrick will call Harvard/Cornell on NBCSN next week, and then work the back-to-back BC/BU games later in the month.

Perhaps FSN decided that the NHL wasn't coming back this year? Do they typically broadcast NHL games?

Not that I've seen. usually it's local sports - college and even high school.

It's not FSN, it's FCS, their dedicated college networks. Basically 3 regional college-only channels. Probably the lowest household penetration for anything actually considered a national network, but I'm not complaining. It's certainly better than nothing.
Sorry, all we get Fox Sports-wise is the college channels plus a soccer channel.
The Friday game is televised, not Saturday (though it would have been tough finding a free TV let alone hearing the game in a sports bar when the Packers-Vikings game is on at 8 pm).

According to the ROOTS website, just Friday night's game. Saturday is professional squeakball (but which maybe blacked out on the non-local level due to the NBA's League Pass package). I doubt that they offer "alternative" programming for Saturday night.

Buffalo Wild Wings in Ithaca might play the game, but you might want to call and ask if they get that channel first.
I guarantee they get the channel - every self-respecting sports bar in the US get the DirecTV sports pack (or equivalent). The harder part is convincing them to show it.carpy85

I wonder if there's a way to calculate the probability of getting the game at a sports bar in Dallas during tonight's OU-A&M football game...not sure if our number system goes that low.

If you get there early enough, they might give you a little tv mounted on a wall in a corner with no sound and where you have to crane your neck. That is what the BWW in Lafayette, IN usually gave us when ECAC tourny games were the same weekend as march madness. Good Luck.

TWC is showing it's own "College Hockey Report" Thursday at 9:30 PM. It's a regular series. Has it been on before and has anyone watched it?
Hosted by Marisa Jacqques with Fridgen adding color. Not bad - highlights from last week - though I could have done without the RPI highlights. Some coverage of division three at the end of the show. It is billed as the New York State College Hockey show. There was understandably more coverage of RPI and Union, but overall worth a watch.

So very reminscent of the Elmira (NY) Star Gazette during Ned's time at Cornell. No matter what the Cornell Hockey team did along winning lines, the SG would not print a damned thing about it. The minute they lost a game, that worthless rag would run an article about it. At the time I chalked it up to the fact that a Cornell loss was NEWS during Ned's time. So, in a warped way, it made sense. But, when other coaches came & went, and losses sometimes piled up, the practice of reporting more heavily on losses continued. Then, I knew for sure, they were just fucked up!!

For Comcast customers in metro NYC area already heavily invested in premium packages, Fox College Sports Altantic appears to be an additional premium channel buy-in.

Indeed it is, Al. I forgot to consider this possibility: I already pay for the Comcast sports package ($9 a month, I believe) and Comcast has only enabled some of the sports channels. One weeps for NBC now that Comcast owns them outright.Al DeFlorio

It looks like it may be possible to watch the game on NESN tonight via some internet stream. I have no experience with this, but a little googling would seem to indicate that there may be multiple options. For example, here's one: [www.livestream.com]

I expect America One will use the NESN stream. That's what seemed to happen with RPI TV and Yale. They had their broadcasts picked up for America One. I metioned it last night, but will post it again here. If you pay the $10 you can watch any and all games.
