Might as well get to the new season. As in the past, if you hear of something, let me know and I'll add it. If you tell me the satelite channel numbers for each listing, I'll add that as well. I have to believe that TW, with strong ties to Albany, Syracuse and Rochester, will put on some games, maybe MSG.

Men

11/16 Harvard @ CU 7:30 NBCSN
11/17 Dartmouth @ CU 7:00 TWCNY, TWCD
11/24 Michigan @ MSG 8:00 MSG
 1/04 CU @ Denver 9:30 Root Sports
 1/18 CU @ Union 7:00 TWCD
 1/25 Yale @ CU 7:30 NBCSN
 2/15 CU @ Dartmouth 7:00 Fox Atlantic
 2/16 CU @ Harvard 7:00 Fox Atlantic
 3/16 CU @ Q ECAC quarters 7:00 NESN

Women

 2/15 Harvard @ CU 7:00 TWCNY

MSG = MSG Network
NBCSN = NBC Sports Network-- DirectTV (220-Ithaca)
Root Sports is a Rocky Mtn cable sports channel also available on Direct TV.
TWCNY = Time Warner CNY, check your local TW schedule.
TWCD = Time Warner Cap Dist, check your local TW schedule.

The Dartmouth game on Saturday the 17th will be on Time Warner channel 1 in the Capital District. The prime TW local sports channel (50) will be showing high school football. I think this means no HD here.

Perhaps FSN decided that the NHL wasn't coming back this year? Do they typically broadcast NHL games?

Not that I've seen. usually it's local sports - college and even high school.

It's not FSN, it's FCS, their dedicated college networks. Basically 3 regional college-only channels. Probably the lowest household penetration for anything actually considered a national network, but I'm not complaining. It's certainly better than nothing.

Cornell @ Denver Friday 1/4 appears to be on DirecTV channel 683 (Root sports) at 9:30 pm EST. That's using a zip code lookup for the NY area, on the DTV site. Loks like 687 in the Boston area. [www.directv.com]

The Friday game is televised, not Saturday (though it would have been tough finding a free TV let alone hearing the game in a sports bar when the Packers-Vikings game is on at 8 pm).

Who's right? Not sure. I relied on Cornell pregame notes [www.cornellbigred.com], which said Root TV (via DirectV and Dish) Friday and Denver webcast Saturday. Having seen that, I looked up the channel #s on DTV for NYC [683] and Boston [says 687] for Friday and didn't check DTV for Saturday to see if Cornell's game notes were out of date (ie wrong). Denver's pregame notes are inconclusive about satellite TV for the Saturday game. [www.nmnathletics.com] The Denver multimedia page doesn't show a schedule [www.nmnathletics.com] The Denver homepage calendar videocamera icon is blanked out for both Friday and Saturday. Because of the late hour of Friday's game and conflict with football Saturday, if I could do both games from home for $8.95 for streaming, that'd be attractive. Maybe if Brandon Thomas is lurking, he can clarify. Update: The Saturday DTV lineup for channels in the 680s does not show the DU-CU game.

According to the ROOTS website, just Friday night's game. Saturday is professional squeakball (but which maybe blacked out on the non-local level due to the NBA's League Pass package). I doubt that they offer "alternative" programming for Saturday night.

Here's hoping the Redcast audio doesn't sound like it is coming Denver Airport's Runaway.

I guarantee they get the channel - every self-respecting sports bar in the US get the DirecTV sports pack (or equivalent). The harder part is convincing them to show it.

I wonder if there's a way to calculate the probability of getting the game at a sports bar in Dallas during tonight's OU-A&M football game...not sure if our number system goes that low.

If you get there early enough, they might give you a little tv mounted on a wall in a corner with no sound and where you have to crane your neck. That is what the BWW in Lafayette, IN usually gave us when ECAC tourny games were the same weekend as march madness. Good Luck.

Was it the Union RPI, TW Albany show? I have noticed it but not really watched it.

Hosted by Marisa Jacqques with Fridgen adding color. Not bad - highlights from last week - though I could have done without the RPI highlights. Some coverage of division three at the end of the show. It is billed as the New York State College Hockey show. There was understandably more coverage of RPI and Union, but overall worth a watch.

So very reminscent of the Elmira (NY) Star Gazette during Ned's time at Cornell. No matter what the Cornell Hockey team did along winning lines, the SG would not print a damned thing about it. The minute they lost a game, that worthless rag would run an article about it. At the time I chalked it up to the fact that a Cornell loss was NEWS during Ned's time. So, in a warped way, it made sense. But, when other coaches came & went, and losses sometimes piled up, the practice of reporting more heavily on losses continued. Then, I knew for sure, they were just fucked up!!

Indeed it is, Al. I forgot to consider this possibility: I already pay for the Comcast sports package ($9 a month, I believe) and Comcast has only enabled some of the sports channels. One weeps for NBC now that Comcast owns them outright.

One weeps for NBC now that Comcast owns them outright.
Ask not for whom the bell tolls
You want to DVR Jimmy Fallon and the screen prompt says you'll be able to watch it between 8 am and noon, or 1 and 5 pm, pick one.

You want to DVR Jimmy Fallon
This is a nonsensical statement, even as a hypothesis.

While this subject
can be very touchy for most people, my opinion is that there
has to be a middle or common ground that we all can find.
I do appreciate that you've added relevant and
intelligent commentary here though. Thank you!

Even more touchy would be my computer if I clicked on any of the links in your signature.

"The ECAC Hockey semifinals and championship game shall be aired live on Fox College Sports (FCS). In addition, the Cornell at Quinnipiac game Saturday, March 16 shall be aired live on the New England Sports Network (NESN); and the St. Lawrence at Yale game Sunday, March 17 (if necessary) shall be aired on Connecticut Public Television (CPTV)."

It looks like it may be possible to watch the game on NESN tonight via some internet stream. I have no experience with this, but a little googling would seem to indicate that there may be multiple options. For example, here's one: [www.livestream.com]

Anyone have any experience with this? I'm sure the NESN broadcast will be of significantly higher quality than the $10 America One video, not to mention $10 cheaper.

I expect America One will use the NESN stream. That's what seemed to happen with RPI TV and Yale. They had their broadcasts picked up for America One. I metioned it last night, but will post it again here. If you pay the $10 you can watch any and all games.

I paid the $10 last night, and will happily pay it again tonight if I can't find a free option that is as good. I am pleased to hear that America One is likely to use the NESN feed.

Thanks, Jim!

My previous experience with Q broadcast is that they did not use NESN. Hopefully, that will be different tonight...

The $10 America One feed --IS-- the NESN broadcast.
