Nice performance by the Big Red. Let's see them do it again tomorrow, prove it wasn't a fluke.

Cornell looked really good, but Niagara looked really, really bad. They were a 10-5-1 team -- either Schafer has connected the team up with a new pharmacist, or the Purple Eagles had an atypically flat night. Echoing Beeeej, tomorrow we'll see.

Postgame report is that I'm an idiot.

Loaded up the Niagara audio a few minutes before 7 and it was unavailable. Got caught up in other things and forgot about the game completely.

Well, if we go 4-2 in league games this month (to get to 8-4 ECAC), we'll have at least seven losses overall.

Don't get me wrong, the game can go either way and I will be screaming for Cornell, but RIP looks the best it has since the pre-Fridge era. Their new coach is motivating them and I expect them to be very ready to play the remainder of their ECAC schedule.

We've already hashed out the disappointment over giving up third-period leads, but it's worth noting that in Cornell's last four games--three against ranked opponents--the team has given up just one goal in the first two periods, and that only because of an egregious giveaway. Maybe things are starting to come together.

Mike's new lines are looking pretty good to me, too.

I thought Niagara looked really off....very slow and not very physical. Their special teams applied little to no pressure, which made us look great on our PP. (I've noticed we don't do well against aggressive PK units.) Despite being beaten soundly, they showed poise and class by not getting chippy.

I'd have to say Niagara was the slowest team we've seen all year. They were constantly out of position and their forwards don't seem to like the idea of blocking shots, or playing defense at all for that matter...

Looks like Schafer liked the lines he used at Florida, enough for one more week at least. No lineup surprises either.

Its always great to get a decissive win like that, but I have a feeling things will be a lot closer tonight.

Impressive performance last night, but Niagara looked absolutely horrible. Incredibly slow team, unable to win anything along the boards. No way we should have lost this one.

As for Niagara's "not getting chippy," I think we'll see some of that tonight if it looks like they're going to lose.

Riley Nash's goal in the 3rd period...amerks127 remarked that it was the "easiest goal ever." Riley was staring at a wide open net, fumbled the puck for a couple seconds, and was still staring at a wide open net when he finally let off a shot.

Scrivens wasn't challenged much, but almost lost his shutout in the 2nd when a Niagara shot hit the post.

This looked like a lot of those games from 2002-2003 when Cornell was the far better team and LeNeveu only had to make a couple tough saves. Let's hope we see the same effort and full-game effort from Cornell tonight.

Yeah he had enough time to read the paper, have a cup of coffee, and probably a quick smoke (not to mention bringing the puck around on his forehand) before burying that into a wide open net

I agree that Niagara did not skate aggressively, especially during the second half of the game.

I thought the power play looked very good, and while it might have been due to lack of pressure by Niagara, I did notice that on a few occasions Cornell didn't just cycle the puck but were actually moving themselves around as well. The passes seemed to flow a lot better during these times as well. Hope they can keep up the good work!
