Anyone that got tix know what section is designated for CU? Looks like I waited too long to get good seats. CU ticket office only has 300 level left. Ticketbastards still has 200 level and I want to get close to the band etc. if I can.
Thanks!

MSG holds, what, 20k? This game is going to sell, what, 5k tickets? Maybe.

I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of good seats.

Maybe NYR season ticket holders get their seats free or something. I have a hard time believing the lower bowl is close to sold out.

MSG said that they have 11,000 tickets released/sold for the game. They also indicated that the demand has been greater from the Cornell side.

That's pretty awesome. MSG could really be rockin! Definitely getting pumped!

According to the CU ticket office a few months back, the central Cornell area is sections 72-76, and the sections above that on the next tiers up.

A seating chart is visable here, just change the pull down to ice hockey:

The guy I spoke to from MSG was pleasantly surprised with the ticket response for the game. He said that they had about 17,000 total seats for this game but that the 3,200 from the top level have not been opened up yet. I am not sure if the 18,200 normally includes the press and the luxury boxes. The MSG rep said he didn't think they would release the upper level of seats, but that you never know.

Thanks for the info guys.

I thought the same thing as far as the size of MSG vs demand for tix but I called CU and they only have 300 level left. Ticketmaster online only gives 200 level if you search for best seats available...and if you choose Cornell Fan Section there is nothing available. The wife told me to buy tix asap and I didn't listen. smashfreak

FYI, I called Ticketmaster today...they said the only way to get in the lower sections is to buy 1 ticket. There is nothing available for 2 or more people below the 200 level. I never imagined they'd sell that many tix that fast.

If there's demand for it, I can't imagine any reason why they wouldn't.

As a Ranger season ticket holder, I assure you that we aren't getting tickets for free.

In fact, and I find this just a bit surprising, there has been no promotion for the game directly to Rangers' season ticket holders. The reason is that MSG is not producing the game; the competing schools are as I understand it.

I hope to get there.

That is suprising and disappointing it seems not to have hurt any. I'm personally glad the NYR fans don't get free tix. Nothing against the Rangers' fans (official mascot: the scent of urine), but the Florida Everblades gave away tickets for the first Estero Tourny IIRC, and what resulted was an arena full of "who cares?"

I plan to get up there too. Cornell-BU at MSG is something I can't miss.

Surely you aren't putting Everblades fans in the same category as Rangers season ticket holders.

Not sure were you get that "scent of urine" thing from but it would have been more appropriately applied to Bruins' fans at the old Boston Garden or currently to the Nassau Coliseum.

I wasn't suggesting that NYR fans getting free tix but I thought they'd offer a ticket promotion to season ticket holders.

I have a suspicion that a good chunk of the tickets downstairs didn't sell but are being held for groups. Different alumni organizations/class councils have probably staked out blocks and those that don't sell will go public through the schools or MSG late in the fall.

I'm much too much a skeptic to think that that many tickets have been sold this far out for this event. Maybe there's far more demand than I guessed.

I actually started looking for tickets within a week of them going on sale and the only thing available then was the ends of the arena and the upper levels. I've charted all(20+) the times I've checked ticketmaster and nothing changed other than the level they are showing. Almost always in the corners and nothing in the lower bowl. Also stopped to see Gene and he said all that he had was sold out within a week, which I find hard to believe. I have a feeling there will be tickets available as it gets closer to the big day.

Anyone have insight as to whether this game might be televised in some fashion? Looking like I might not be able to attend in person, but the next best thing would be to catch it on cable

We would also have accepted "the Gallery Gods" for the scent of urine.

Everybody knows there is neither piss nor vinegar at Uniondale, because we have no fans. bang

Fortunately for the Isles and Devils, they still each get to sell out 4 games a year.
