Losing 3 of 4 bit, but we should note the starts of two other conference powers for perspective:
Cornell (4-2-0, 7-3-0)
Colgate (1-4-1, 5-8-2)
Among the Raider's losses: RPI, Yale and Niagara
Harvard (2-7-0, 3-8-0)
Among the Crimson's losses: Brown, Yale and Princeton, all at home, and all in the last 9 days, making them a perfect 0-5 in Ivy play.

Noted but something tells me neither would lose to Wayne State.

Wow you are in a sour mood. Niagara is in the same conf as Wayne State and Colgate lost to them. Harvard lost to Brown and Cornell and both teams split with Wayne State. So yea they could also lose to WSU.

Comparing teams within the ECAC is a lost cause because there is too much parity. Not even to exam breaks yet and I'm picking games with a dartboard.
That being said, I think Niagara is a better team than WSU but that's no excuse for 'Gate. Also, just by looking at Harvard's record there are probably a number of HE fans saying "BC lost to those guys?" I mean at this point they have as many wins as WSU. So records can be deceiving, unless you are AIC with 0 wins maybe. It's getting very hard to compare teams beyond the game you are currently playing, ask Minnesota.
At least I can forecast the weather better than I do hockey scores. I guess that's why my future career will be in weather and not arena reporting.

I was at the RPI Tourney over the weekend and saw Colgate play OSU. Although 'Gate won, I thought that OSU played better overall. The Raiders looked disorganized. I didn't stick around for the game vs. Niagara.

Is this the reverse of a we-can-indirectly-beat-#1 thing (Cornell hoops beats Northwestern which beat Michigan which beat BC which lost to #1 Florida by less than we beat Northwestern by ...), which shows that with no more than three degrees of separation, Cornell hockey on any given night is capable of losing to the worst of the sixty Division I hockey teams?

Well, given that AIC hasn't beaten anyone yet, I'd say not, at least in the usual chain-of-losses sense.

Colgate is a real mess right now. They are giving up boat loads of shots. They really should have lost to Princeton as well, they gave up 50+ shots, many of them quality efforts. That is the one game that Dekanich really stole for them. They miss the character guys from last year, especially Jon Smyth.

What Colgate really needs on its team is a good blogger.

It's more like pointing out that a struggling Harvard and struggling Colgate would lose to Wayne State is not farfetched or out of the question. We lost to WSU, we shouldn't have and it sucks but its not like our team is doing awful or can't turn things around. We are 7-3 and have nearly 20 games to go; there is time to improve our special teams and end up well.

Ha, last year at the ECAC Championships in Albany, Don Vaughan joked (?) that they had to screen the Cornell fans on Smyth's blog.

So they could get to the great insight from Colgate fans, like the one complaining Cornell had an easier remaining schedule when they played the same freakin' teams. It's almost like they only pay attention to the team for one game all year...

Vermont goes up 1-0 on a PPG that seemed to really upset all the red benches in attendance.

And Harvard ties it up in the middle of the second.

You know why you can see all those red benches with no one on them?
1 - Harvard sucks
2 - The few people who thought about going to the game remembered those cookies that UVM gave out a couple years ago, among the worst ever baked, and were afraid they might accidentally ingest one in a moment of sheer boredom
3 - Harvard sucks
