20-7 at the half, one of the finest first halves Cornell has played in several years.  A+ offense, A defense, A special teams.  They even went the last 7 or so minutes without a penalty.  Great job so far!

I checked Albany's record on their web site.  Kind of strange.  they were beaten by Fordham, who were beaten by Columbia 37-7.  So I'm not sure how good they really are.  One of their supposedly big wins was over Central Connecticut, and that's a team Yale would never consider putting on their schedule.

I was listening to the CCSU football show on the hartford espn radio this week. They just beat northern (?) georgia, which I understand is a big deal. They were talking about how the NEC (top to bottom) is starting to challenge the patriot and ivy league in the I-AA pecking order. They kept talking about how good Albany was though. The coach even talked about trying to schedule UConn in the next 8 years or so because the NEC starting offering scholarships this year for the first time.

In other news, anyone watching on some-access? I'm told I don't have access to the content but perhaps they haven't renewed me (even though they sent me a new password)... I'm listening to the (quite good) UAlbany announcers.

Trotsky

A couple nice punts by Cornell tonight, with good coverage.  The O has bogged down a bit, with SUNYA starting to get good pressure on Ford.  Albany driving middle of the third, still 20-7.

Could be Georgia Southern, and they are historically a strong I-AA team.

The Albany announcers are VERY good.  Amazingly balanced and fair, especially after listening to some of the announcers for other ECAC hockey teams.  My 14-day trial subscription to All-Access expired yesterday and I never got to see anything.  Bucknell never worked and the Yale game was either never broadcast or never archived.

Momentum is clearly shifting, and time of possession is becoming even.  Cornell was obviously sky-high at the start of the game, and the effect may be wearing off.  Or Albany is making better adjustments than Cornell is.

It would be nice to hold for a field goal here.

Agreed.  Very professional.

Penalties are really killing us.  We've done well at beating ourselves so far this year.  Hope they can revive the offense in the fourth quarter, because hanging on is risky business.

20-14 end of third.  Another good punt, but the line needs to get pressure on Bocanegra now.

Trotsky

Wow, lucking out on that punt.  Only 14 net yards and Cornell gets the ball on the 34, rather than inside the 5.

Trotsky

And now a 17 yard double reverse by Kilcoyne.  It's great how much of our O is sophomores (Kilcoyne, Baker, Ford, Canty...).

Trotsky

Crap.  50-yard interception return by Sheehan for Albany.  20-20, pending the kick...

Trotsky

20-21, 11 mins left.

07-00 1 Cor Siwula ? run, Zell kick.
10-00 1 Cor Zell 28 FG.
10-07 2 Alb Bocanegra-Wall 25 pass, Fralicker kick.
17-07 2 Cor Ford-Jackson 5 pass, Zell kick.
20-07 2 Cor Zell ? FG.
20-14 3 Alb Johnson 1 run, Fralicker kick.
20-21 4 Alb Sheehan ? int ret, Fralicker kick.

Trotsky

Holy crap, Cornell fakes a punt on their own 10 and goes 20 yards for the first down!
