Have I mentioned how much I love polls, specifically preseason ones.

FWIW - I do love the fact that Cornell is ranked #13 in the preseason, even given all of our losses.  I don't believe it, but publicity is a good thing.

I wonder who gave Colgate a first place vote.

At least it gives us something to talk about until the puck drops in several weeks.

Is it coincidence that Minnesota has 666 points?

Fitting that Holy Cross ended their season last year, then.

Since when is Alaska-Fairbanks just "Alaska"?

They changed the their Athletics name over the summer from UAF Nanooks to Alaska Nanooks. There are threads about it on USCHO forum. Apparently not everyone is happy especially some UAA fans.

I still think it's rediculous to rank 20 teams in Div-I NCAA hockey.  That's almost a third of the entire division.  Stupid.  Should be top 10, or go back to 15, but 10 would be my bet.

As mentioned, preseason polls are quite stupid too.  At least the hockey poll doesn't decide the national champion.

It does decide the Ceramic Dalmatian, however.  ::nut::

After wandering in the off-season wilderness, it's great to see the poll.  Like the first leaf falling, it's a sign that hockey will soon be back.  The Wheel of Life, and all that stuff.
