[quote andyw2100]OK, got it. Now I'm not worried any more.

Sorry for the false alarm.

You wanna be worried? There's a nice column up on USCHO about Cornell/Colgate - from the Cornell perspective. Written by none other than our good friend Chris Mascaro. In it he says that Cornell is "considered a lock" for the NCAA tournament  ::uhoh::

From Moy's Bracketology yesterday:

QuoteAlbany
Dartmouth vs. Miami
Maine vs. Cornell

Oh, how I wish we could sign for that today!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.  That is far and away the best scenario I have seen.  Of the top three Eastern teams, I'd most like to see Miami, followed by MSU with BU definitely being my last choice.

To get this Dartmouth has to win the late game this Saturday. Still want to sign up for it?  ::twitch::

It becomes closer, but still probably yes, if the alternative is a West bracket with the Minnesotas, North Dakotas and CC's of the world.

While obviously I'm signing for the bracket and not a guaranteed advance in this situation, I think it sets us up for the greatest chance of success in the NCAAs, for which I may be willing to sacrifice the ECAC title.

From USCHO preview article:  "Later, Schafer added firmly: 'You don't come to Albany to qualify for NCAAs, you come here to win the championship!'"
