I don't know how long the link will last, but an unnamed writer at USA Today likes Kevin Boothe. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/raiders/home.htm

[q]DRAFT PICKS TO STICK
...
Rd. 6/176 G-T Kevin Boothe, Cornell ? His strength, smarts and athletic ability make him a keeper, although he may watch as a rookie.[/q]

[q]OFFENSIVE LINE: LT Robert Gallery, LG Barry Sims, C Corey Hulsey, RG Paul McQuistan, RT Langston Walker. Backups ? T Chad Slaughter, G-T Brad Badger, G Kelvin Garmon, C Adam Treu, G-T Kevin Boothe, C Chris Morris, C Jake Grove.

Shell has been in overtime on Gallery, imparting the wisdom of a Hall of Fame left tackle. Gallery has been beset by false starts and given up pre-season sacks, but Shell insists he is fine and will develop into a Pro Bowl player. The line's success may depend on it. Sims, who was having trouble against speed rushers as a left tackle, could benefit from the shift inside. Hulsey's strength earned him the temporary starting role until Grove, an aggressive mauler, returns from a shoulder strain around Week 3 or 4, with Hulsey then becoming a reserve guard. Badger's value lies as a swing man in case of emergency. McQuistan was made a starter in April and will have some rough moments but Shell and Co. are convinced he can be a Kevin Gogan-type guard. Walker, who played left guard last year, is the biggest question mark on the line. His last stint as the starter at right tackle lasted exactly one game before he was replaced by Gallery. Garmon has seven years experience and can start in a pinch. Treu may be on the way out in favor of Morris eventually, who is a similar player with similar skills. Boothe could eventually supplant Sims at tackle in a year or two if things go according to plan.

As of today he is listed as the #2 right guard on the depth chart.

Kevin saw a little action on Sunday.  The San Franciso Chronicle
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2006/09/12/SPG41L3TFA1.DTL wasn't enthusiastic about the Raiders.  [q]Coaching: D

Everyone knew the Chargers were going to hand off to Tomlinson all night, yet the Raiders couldn't come up with preventive measures that worked until the third quarter. But at least they made adjustments. Offensive coordinator Tom Walsh used some imagination in an effort to spring Jordan in the first half. On the first series of the play, rookie Kevin Boothe checked in as a sixth offensive lineman for two plays. That produced two 3-yard runs. Everything else was vanilla-bean ice cream, minus the sugar.

He played part of the game vs. the Ravens and might get the start this weekend.

Madden and Michaels are talking about how Boothe broke his nose last week and had to go to the hospital during the game.

He started tonight, but is currently out with blood coming out of his nose...

That's a bad break.  I thought he was looking pretty good tonight, although the team is pretty awful.

He's back in now (right guard #67). The man played with two broken hands... one hopes a bloody nose doesn't keep him out.

And was introduced as an "up and coming player" (she said paraphrasing) by the Raider doing the intros (sorry I didn't catch who it was).

On sportscenter today they showed a clip of Boothe getting yelled at after the Raiders gave up three straight sacks.

I saw that sequence. Awful. None of them were coverage sacks. I looked for Boothe after each one but I didn't know his number and didn't see enough of anyone's back (except the total bust Gallery) to read his name. I figured, though, that with 9 sacks allowed at least one had to be his fault.

Boothe wears 67, and the guy opposite him pretty much had his way last night.  Along with everyone else in Seattle's defensive line.
