A delayed broadcast of the WJC title game (Canada-US) is now (1/2/06 12:30PM) on Fox Sports Ohio...DirecTV channel 638.    Does anyone know what number Sasha is wearing?  The names on the jerseys are very small & hard to read....And, the announcers only say the names of the US players.

Sasha wears 36, but you won't see him, because he didn't play in theg game.

Tnx...No Sasha and I already know the final score of the game.   I guess I should get on to other things.

Yeah, it was a preliminary game. The US plays the czech republic in the quarterfinals while canada has a bye. I think that game is tonight or tomorrow.

Well is was the group title game... the US quarterfinal is tonight at 8 PST I believe. Canada earned a bye.

Coulda sworn I read on the CHL site that Canada beat Russia in the final by something like 6-1, a couple days ago.  Was that just the final of the group games?

BigRedBrouhaha

6-1 canada russia was the score of last years final. Ovechkin versus Crosby, turned out to be a bit one sided for Canada I would say.

This is the game where Jack Johnson cheap-shotted that Canadian guy, right?

Yes, Johnson elbowed Steve Downey on the head as Kyle Chipchura scored the game-winning empty-net goal.  Johnson and Team USA are very lucky that the IIHF didn't hand out a suspension.

Team USA really screwed itself by blowing the 2-0 third-period lead against Switzerland.  Even a one-goal win against the Swiss would have given Team USA a tiebreak win against Canada if those teams tied the final round-robin game.

The WJC semi-final game USA vs. Czech. has been added to tonight's lineup on the NHL center ice package if you are a subscriber.  11pm EST live.

I knew it was money well spent!

It's a quarterfinal. It's really more like a play-in game. The semis are tomorrow.
