Up until the 1980 ECAC tourney, there was no "somebody else, too" part to the cheer.  We just did "Screw BU" no matter who we were playing.  The "somebody else, too" part was added at the 1980 tournament.

I think 1981 was the last year BU was in the ECAC, cause in 1981-82, Hockey LEast was formed.  We've only needed the cheer for only BU sporadically since then.

By the way, my favorite memory of BU was the 1979 ECAC tournament in Boston.  Altho we only played them in the consolation (they lost to Dartmouth in the semis), not the final, we did light up Jim Craig for 7 goals.

Hockey (L)East's first year was 1985.

1983-4 was the last season for BU, etc., in the ECAC.

You're right.  What I'm remembering is the three division system:  East, West, and Ivy.  I know the whole debate about Hockey East started when I was in school, anyway.
