"That damn bell at Clarkson." -Ken Dryden in reference to his hatred for the Clarkson Bell.

Shafer most definetly had his teams split based on the line combinations he is looking at for the year.

This article mentions the fight.

It also calls Fontas a sophomore.  Is that true?
Is next year here yet?

pfibiger

Fontas finished his sophomore year at UML, but won't be able to play until next year, and will have two years of eligibility remaining. So in a hockey-sense, he's a sophomore. I don't know how his transfer of credits worked between UML and Cornell, it's possible he's an academic sophomore as well.

I don't like to sharpshoot The Sun, but did they even look at this before posting it?

Also

"After it was broken up, the teams went straight into the shootout in which senior goaltender Louis Chabot made six saves for the White team."

Chabot was on the Red team.

On the other hand, to be fair, they spelled "hockey" correctly.

As long as we're piling on, what does it mean to score a goal "through" someone?

"The White team would get itself on the board in the second period through senior Cam Abbott...  The White squad scored a second goal in the third period through junior Mitch Carefoot.

[q]Because of; on account of: She succeeded through hard work. He declined the honor through modesty.[/q]The examples point to the fact that the word is usually used in this way with abstract attributes ("modesty") rather than people.  But I've heard it used this way before.  Still pretty awkward.
