It looks a lot better than the old site.  Though I still don't understand why they're featuring the art museum pic... anything else would be better.

The pic changes each time you refresh the page, so you only have to see it 25% of the time.

Fonts could be bigger. Same could be said for this site.

I think the Art Museum photo is outstanding.  The space in the middle of the building draws your eye right to it, which leads you to a backdrop (West Hill) about a mile away.  This causes the viewer to scan the distant background creating interesting visual apposition with the foreground.  The materials composing the foreground (concrete, glass, etc.) also stand in contrast to that of the background (earth, trees; albeit there are houses and roads there).

Personally, it's also nostalgic.  As an alum, I love the view from West Hill at dusk.  You folks in Ithaca are so lucky.  Just my 2 cents.  (Also an explanation of why I got a C+ in Color, Form, and Space with Prof. Daly.  Loved the class -- lousy grade.)

Even Microsoft has given up defending its font handling and now says, "Wait for Longhorn." You can also get help from things like LiquidSurf but it's a stopgap.

I feel slightly less damned for all existence by using an alternative to IE.

(But does Mozilla look like a pixel-for-pixel copy of Netscape Navigator for anybody else?)

Is next year here yet?

The image of the art museum makes it look way nicer on photo than sometimes it looks in person. Plus you don't see the little glitches like the million thumb-depressions in the window caulking when the caulk was setting up the first year and everybody tested to see how deep an impression they could make.

You could do one of those Separated at Birth photos of the Johnson Art Museum and a 1970s pinball machine.

A little bit on topic, there is no longer a direct link to Athletics from the home page.

The page is not happy when viewed by Netscape 6. :-(

In other news, your car is not happy running leaded gas.

Actually, your car is just fine.  It's your wallet that's unhappy, when you have to replace your catalytic converter.

Yes, I know.  God damn ChemE's!  ::rolleyes::
