I hate to give them any credit but Quinnipiac defended the heck out of that game.  When they did have a breakdown Kirsch was there to snuff it out.

Quinnipiac iced it five times in the first five minutes of the game so even before the clown linesman could do their part to grind the game to a halt, the visitors had already done that.

When play was ongoing, Cornell was on their heels like it was carry over from last Saturday night.  Cornell could not match the speed coming back the other way.  Veilleux losing an edge at the blue line didn't help.  I am not going to blame Rousseau for the three goals he gave up, all grade A chances, but they need him to stop one of those once in a while.  If he does stop any one of those last night it's a different game.

Quinnipiac sticks made passing impossible.  I didn't think Cornell did a good enough job adjusting by using their legs to advance the puck.  Passes at their own blue line when the guy could have skated it out.  Passes at the Q blue line when the guy could have carried it in.  Lateral passes inside the Q blue line when there was space down the boards to skate the puck.

It was really nice to see that this version of the team has cycle and tenacity in their game.  They needed another minute or two in that second period to push one across.  Hopefully they get to that part of their game earlier against Princeton.

The Ryan goal was beautiful.  Amazing fake shot to make Kirsch bite.  Great patience to finish.  Sometimes when that kid gets the puck, everything slows down.

Who's up next in the sixth D man revolving door?  Asking for a friend.

Tuminaro, hopefully. Otherwise, McCrady. I did like Gorski's play last night, though.

For the advanced statheads, CHN has us at 2.71 xG to Q's 2.52. Make of that what you will.

The Rancor

I feel like I'm seeing a lot of lazy play, bad communications and trying moves that just aren't going to work on a top team at this level. stretching the stick wayyy out to attempt to get a loose puck or bad pass instead of moving your feet, taking the extra step. Leaving the puck out in the open and not communicating who's taking the play. You can't get away with that. Bad passing all night. They have to be quicker.
