We had to sleep outside Lynah which was not fun but well worth it.

It's only a tradition if the students take it into their own hands and start the line before the advertised 7am time. Go ahead and camp out, kiddos. See what happens.

So I guess the question now is: do students read their emails? Not nearly a guarantee, in my experience.

Senior year, we arrived Wednesday afternoon and were second in line.  We were bougie.  Had tents and a generator and watched movies. Very comfy.

That's what it was called.  T Shirts memorialized it.   It was one of the earliest forerunners of what came to be called "The Lynah Faithful."

That's what it should be called again.

"The Great Wait"  sounds like what an aspiring ad agency summer intern might run up the flagpole at the morning meeting.

Good morning Vietnam!

Your trusty war correspondent here, going to give a boots-on-the-ground running update for the event. Partially so I don't give up and pass out, partially for you guys to experience it with me.

I've woken up before my 4 am alarm. I'm legging it up the hill.

Plan is to leave by 5 am, possibly before, and get to Lynah by 6. It's 36 minutes or so walking, but I'm a frail old person in the body of a 22-year-old (at least when it comes to trekking uphill, and this is basically one entire uphill shot), so I expect I'll have to take several breaks to un-jellify my legs. May make a pit stop at Myron Taylor as well, depending on time, water reserves, need to raid the vending machines, etc.

Sunrise is 6.50 am. Bartels doors open 7 am.

Let's pray I don't get stabbed 💜

4:40 am. Fully awake, GERD pill taken, one granola bar down, leaving the house.

Fucking nobody is awake rn. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.

Also, that I should have put on more than just a t-shirt. Ah well. If we get sick we get sick.
