Quote from: BearLover on Today at 12:01:54 AMMSU has 17 draft picks including 9 first rounders. Don't know how we're supposed to compete with that. The best players commit/transfer to the top conferences to play against better talent, which creates a vicious cycle of the top conferences perpetually improving and the weaker conferences perpetually getting worse. The CHL opening up to college exacerbated this. We unfortunately need to root for other ECAC teams to improve so that the conference profile improves somewhat.
Anyone remember the last time we played MSU, when they were the 1 seed, and had a bunch of really good players, and everyone expected them to beat us to a pulp?

:)

You have to have the skill AND the process to win in the tourney. Teams like Denver are successful no matter who they have, because they bring in the right guys and they play the right way.

Obviously, the talent gap is increasing, but it also allows us to get better recruits as well. Two-sided coin. And due to our Ivy positioning, we'll always have that advantage - it's not like we're a Lindenwood.

It would be awesome to get top line talent at Cornell. At the same time, Cornell generally expects you to stay at least 3 years, if not 4. Top draft picks aren't going to do that.

If you start taking one-year mercenaries, it waters down your competitive advantages in academics, in the degree, in all of that.

Please, there's no such person.

It was a natural hat trick to tie the game at 3.

Believe that Olivers Murnieks took notice of Rainers.

"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

Shitting on the program before we even hit the ice for game one. SMH. We don't even play Michigan State this season.

How do we compete? We show up on the ice for 30 (hopefully more) games. That's the whole thing. Maybe you'd be happier rooting for another team?

Quinnipiac hits DOU-BLE DI-GITS vs UNH in a 10-2 win.

Maryville wins against SLU in their first Div1 game, 3-2.

Cournoyer gets the start and makes 16 saves on 18 shots as Wisconsin defeats Robert Morris 4-2.

ASU blanks Lindenwood 5-0.

BU wins against Fairbanks in OT, 2-1. Both goalies do great - Alaska's is Tyler Shea, from Brown. Fun fact, in his freshman year at UMich, Shea dressed as a winger for one game 😂 Anywho, Shea makes 41 saves and lets in 2, Yegorov makes 25 and lets in 1. Btw Adam can you put save percentage on the app for goalies in each game?

And, in exhibition, Colgate beats Union 4-1.

Depends on which app. But I expect Ivy Leaguers to just do the math.

Android, doesn't show. Only has GA and SV. I could do the math but I'm lazy 💜

He scored goals 1, 3, and 4. Freshman Caleb Hadland scored the second and soph Matthew Buckley #5. Videos of all of them without sound are here: https://www.instagram.com/rpi_mhockey/?hl=en

FWIW, RPI football returned the 2nd-half kickoff to lead Hilbert College 62-0. I think that we solved a couple of Hilbert's problems. :)

I will take B level 21 year olds who have played together over younger ones who are theoretically better but one and done mercenaries who leave every year.

Let teams in other conferences take a lot of the blue chip prospects. We don't have to compete with MSU. We just have to win one game against them in the NCAAs if we run into them.
