I hope that you don't mind that I posted this on the RPI off-season thread on USCHO. As you know, the HFH is undergoing repairs.

That's fine.  I think I posted here that I saw the temporary mat that RPI used on top of the concrete when I changed my season tickets in the summer of 2024.  No ice in the summer that year - just a screen like mesh above the concrete. The rink manager's assistant explained what I was looking at.  It will be nice to have better ice there next year.

As for the longer term entry from above it is such a big project that I don't understand how it is going to work.  An escalator to the top is doable, but the stands are almost all built on concrete.  I would love to see how the architects are planning to build the seating close to the glass - that is what will the substructure of the new seating be?  Will they build over the existing concrete or remove it?  At least $20 million is slated for the seating phase of the renovation but removing all that concrete would be amazing.
