Quote from: adamw on March 25, 2026, 12:33:50 PMFYI heard today that Cornell got in Monday to give themselves extra time to acclimate. Not sure how much difference it will make - but at least they're doing all they can.

Flight tracking says they got in Tuesday night. (I wonder how many nonstop flights there have ever been from Ithaca to Loveland on any kind of plane.)

I'm sorry - I meant Tuesday - which was a deal earlier than I was assuming. My mind is scrambled trying to keep track of what day it is - with different Regionals starting different days.

And by the way, different regionals, different days is not an excuse. That's been true for a while, now the day off, that's a different story.

We forgive you, if you just keep working! ;)

grrr - yeah it's been that way - but now they start on Thursday instead of Friday - bleh

Yeah, you got me on that Thursday thing. I guess that qualifies as different days. :D

Only $40 per game, so a good price.  BUT, there was no seating choices, and the confirmation email says "Your tickets will be sent to you in a separate email."  No sign of that email as of 3:40 Mtn time on Wednesday.  The email address for the confirmation looks legit (bigredtix@tickets.mail.cornell.edu), so I don't think it's a scam.
Has anyone else received (or not) their game tix that they ordered via this process? And I'm assuming they'll be a randomly assigned seat, or simply "grab a seat in Section (A or B or C or D)"?

I bought Women's Frozen Four tickets via CU athletics last year. I think the tickets arrived a day or two before the game, so I'd expect them by now. Seats were assigned at random.

Totally anecdotal, but when I was young and fit and ended up competing at elevation I found every day and every workout mattered, and especially the first full day and first real physical test. I suspect getting there a couple days early will be huge for them.

Now when I go to the mountains I'm exhausted walking up a flight of stairs and it takes like 4 days to get back to feeling even mostly normal.

Imagine how the stairs feel.

When I went to Denver for the 2008 Frozen Four, I was also in the middle of training for a couple of bike centuries for Team in Training. The NYC office of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society put me in touch with their group out in Denver also training for TNT rides, and they were delightfully welcoming, even helping me find a place I could rent a suitably advanced bike to join them on a training ride on Friday, since it was a hockey off-day. And believe me when I say that in training for the 2007 El Tour de Tucson, and even in the Tucson desert itself, I had been on plenty of significant hills. After biking through Golden, we finally started climbing our first actual small mountain, and I was gassed in five minutes. Had to wait for them to come back down. They knew exactly why and they didn't tease me for it, which was merciful.  :D

I was also not a Div. I college hockey player or anywhere near my late teens or early twenties, so YMMV.

So glad the team got there early, should at least chip away at Denver's altitude advantage.

And yep, I was just in Utah skiing and apparently my body opted out of the whole "acclimatization" program. Still huffing and puffing at the top like I'd just been chased up the mountain.

Mine showed up today on my "Axs" ticket account, so all is good.

Mine showed up at 4 am Thursday and once I opened the email it took me 45 minutes to access what looks like a ticket because I had to turn off privacy settings, VPN, etc, on my phone to access AXS, set up an AXS account and find the ticket.

Splendid. Love Casey's folksy style and proud of how articulate our guys are. They represent Cornell well.

Oh, btw, Crush Denver Red!

I couldn't tell what Casey said exactly but this does sort of confirm Ryan was brought in a year sooner than expected, maybe upon Bancroft leaving.

Edit: Listened to a few Denver interviews. They seem like nice guys. May the best team Cornell win!
