Hey all - I'm gonna make the drive down from MT for the Loveland regional. Does anyone have any info about the Cornell section for Friday's game?

As mentioned in the Selection Show Thread CU sent out an email about getting tickets. In the Buy ticket link it states "The Cornell block will be in Sections A, B, C and D." So you can get tickets in CU section by ordering thru CU Link.

Thanks, Jim.
I did buy a ticket (for Friday's game) last night, due to a sense that that the few open seats I was seeing were disappearing over the afternoon. It's in section P, but I figure that as long as I'm in the building, I'll find a single open seat in the Cornell section.
I went ahead and registered with bigredtix.com and logged in - it says they go on sale on Tuesday morning. We'll see then - if I can get a better deal or seat, maybe I'll buy that and see about selling the one I bought (hopefully to a Cornell fan!)

I called the box office at Blue arena in Loveland to get clarification on game times.

First game (Minn. St and WMU) is 12:30 Mtn time/2:30 Eastern
The CU-Denver game will then start ~4pm Mtn time/6pm Eastern.

The email I received from CU Athletics said the discounted tickets in sections A-D [$80 for the weekend] go on sale at 9 am MOUNTAIN TIME on TUESDAY.  I assume one needs to use the Cornell athletic website link for this to work.  They specify that there is a refund for Sunday if Cornell does not advance.

It's actually 8am Mtn time (10 eastern) that the tix go on sale.

Cornell Club of Colorado sent out the wrong time.  I didn't see the correction message until this morning but did manage to get a ticket.

Fun fact: Denver played an indirect role in Cornell's ascension to hockey greatness.  Ned Harkness was a good friend of Murray Armstrong, head coach at Denver.  The Ferguson twins, Doug and Dave, and younger brother Bobby, from Birsay, Saskatchewan, were interested in playing for Denver, but Armstrong thought they were too small and referred them to Ned.  The rest is history.

Doug, 5-8 and 175, centered a line with Dave 5-8, 165, and Mike Doran, 5-7, 160.  Doug scored 91 goals in his three seasons and was a two-time All-American.  Dave was captain in his senior year, culminating in Cornell's penultimate NCAA Championship.  Cornell only played Denver twice in that three-year span, losing both games at Denver in the 1965-66 season, but that was 60 years ago.

Thanks George, I had forgotten that tidbit.

Unfortunately they also lost to them 4-3 in 1969 NCAA Finals, Dryden's last game in CU uniform.

FYI heard today that Cornell got in Monday to give themselves extra time to acclimate. Not sure how much difference it will make - but at least they're doing all they can.

Flight tracking says they got in Tuesday night. (I wonder how many nonstop flights there have ever been from Ithaca to Loveland on any kind of plane.)

I'm sorry - I meant Tuesday - which was a day earlier than I was assuming. My mind is scrambled trying to keep track of what day it is - with different Regionals starting different days.

And by the way, different regionals, different days is not an excuse. That's been true for a while, now the day off, that's a different story.

We forgive you, if you just keep working! ;)

On Tuesday, I bought 1 ticket for the regional game, in the Cornell section, via the "bigredtix" link that was from the CU athletics website. Only $40 per game, so a good price.  BUT, there was no seating choices, and the confirmation email says "Your tickets will be sent to you in a separate email."  No sign of that email as of 3:40 Mtn time on Wednesday.  The email address for the confirmation looks legit (bigredtix@tickets.mail.cornell.edu), so I don't think it's a scam.
Has anyone else received (or not) their game tix that they ordered via this process? And I'm assuming they'll be a randomly assigned seat, or simply "grab a seat in Section (A or B or C or D)"?
