Quote from: stereax on February 20, 2026, 08:56:19 PMOk but like how are they allowing a dude who played ECHL and AHL games back in the NCAA?

Bizarrely, NCAA Division I hockey players can maintain eligibility after playing in pro leagues if they were not compensated beyond "actual and necessary expenses" (meals, lodging, gear). Players must not have signed a professional contract or received a salary, focusing instead on amateur, expense-only agreements.

Wouldn't he have had to sign a contract if he played a full season in the ECHL?
Don't think he met the games played threshold

Theoretically we could have a guy in the NCAA who played in the NHL.  The CHL allows players to go to the N as long as they stay under x number of game, 5 I think.  And then we could have that CHL player return to his team and then go to college.

Touchdown! And the remaining "fans" who started filing out after the fifth goal are all heading for the exits now.
