Quote from: VIEWfromK on November 01, 2025, 12:33:19 PMIt could have been from having to kill a penalty to start the game but I thought they were running around a lot of the first period before settling things down. That's a pattern a lot like some of the better teams of the early 2000s.  Survive the first and then get to work.  They were hitting everything in site.  They were looking to shoot first in most cases.  I too wish there had been a replay of the Charlie Major steal and chance.  Again he had no room to make a play yet he made a play.  I'd like the three on one back.  By the time Ryan got the pass back there wasn't much room to shoot.  On the winning goal Cornell won the face-off and Kraft had it on his stick but didn't get enough on the backhand clearing attempt.  I wish he had skated to some open ice before trying to get rid of it instead of being hasty in that crowd.  Of course that's just hindsight.  That was a very well played game.  They are laying a nice foundation for a young team.

I don't see the games on TV like I do in the stands but I really only noticed Walsh during that second period power play where they worked it down to him a couple of times.  I know he was out there for faceoffs but did he have the puck on his stick much the rest of the game?

One aspect we didn't handle well was managing our odd man rushes, particularly the 3 on 1 you mentioned.

Agreed but the overall domination for most of the game 5 x 5 in the first game of the season seemed more offensively aggressive than when we've shocked our out of conference opponents in past years. The D was solid but the offense seemed a bit more creative.

But then again this could be my ancient brain and an early season PollyAnna fog.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

I used to play in a men's hockey league with a guy who was a CC alum.  Seems his crowd at CC collectively referred to "puck muff".

Feels like that would work both as singular or plural.

If so it's a folie à deux.

Careful.  ugarte is taking names and there will come a reckoning once he convenes his tribunal.

I merely report the phrase and it's grammarly place.

you are a dinosaur. at least be funny once while giving your opinion of every woman who happens to cross your path. I thought i gave you a break about getting horny over a black and white photo that you looked at with a jeweler's loupe until you felt a shift.

you think you're cool as a feminist because you support progressive policy but god damn if you have to act normal around women just once you freak out.

I'm sure it will all be in your brief.

Many of us have read more than one book and taken more than one sophomore class.  The twin idiocies of the thesis and antithesis of the last hundred years, split neatly into 50-year slices, are caving into the next synthesis, which neither of us will understand or accept.  That's good.  It's why we die.

You aren't the end of history.  You're a mildly clever, highly rewarded boy who, thinking he has The Golden Key, is now feverishly with furrowed brow of rebuke explaining it to somebody who was present when your script was written.  That is embarrassing for one of us, you are right about that.

Another knight riding to the rescue.  The original problem, set on its head.  Since you missed the memo, it wasn't about sniveling crouching anti-crudity, it was about equal expressive agency!

And you, supposedly a comedian, don't even sniff the irony?  Not auspicious for the career.

Also.  3 was cute.  Very, very cute.  Seizure pills in the top cabinet behind the vial marked "Bergeron, Harrison."

Now be joyful, motherfucker, we won and just for you nobody said "tits" for a full five minutes.

ugarte

you think it's because you're crude but it's because you're crude without sniffing clever. I've laughed at more offensive things than you could possibly imagine. I've told more superficially  offensive jokes than you would attempt. there's no payoff to you constantly indulging your id because every single time *the whole joke* is the transgression.

your rationale for constantly yammering about ugly coeds and Asian engineers and wolf-whistling because you lack any internal social regulator is nonsense no matter how many better writers you quote without comprehension.
