I thought it was standard mediocre officiating at worst, but not a decisive factor. The big issue is our inability to box out or pick up a loose ball in the defensive end. We're still in the game but will need to play much better defense to have a puncher's chance.

Yale is switching and recovering very quickly. Our ball movement is good but they are hanging with us. Fiegen wants to take this game over on offense and just might. Really nice deep three followed by an and-one. Defecit back down to 5.

"Feigen shot that one from Collegetown Bagels" a cute call from the ESPNU color guy.

Meanwhile, I saw highlights of Florida - Kentucky and Xavien Lee is starting and playing well for a title contender. I'm impressed.

cornell is cold from 3 and it feels like the game is starting to slip away. still just down 7 though.

Yale up 12 with 5 minutes to go, and it may be slipping away. We may look back at the beginning of the end when Baldwin (who's been terrific all year) missed two FT's that could've cut it to 2, and then Celestin, who's a beast that we have no answer for, got a 3 point play. Maybe we have one more run in us, but not looking good.

our shooting eye collectively fell apart from deep. rattling or clanging but not dropping much and the problem is more a failure of form than contested looks. Noard played ok against Dartmouth but he's been awful today.

It's a talent issue. Don't know how we can ever realistically out-recruit HYPP in basketball but at least we've outplayed our talent for several years now.

10 seconds left and the seniors get subbed out for an ovation. Feigen, Noard, Hinton and Baldwin take a bow.

Just enough time, down 12, for Rafiq to throw one off back iron and Cornell is out.

Inconsistent season with some great games. Win over Yale was beautiful as was blowing out Princeton twice, dominating Harvard on the road, getting the revenge wins against Columbia and Dartmouth and pulling out a 2OT W over Colgate.

Next year is going to be ... an adjustment. I think it's going to be rough.

Unless we somehow bring in an impact transfer or two, it seems likely our ILT streak will come to an end. The team will be led by Beccles, and I'd expect Nimani to take a step. Sepp is what he is, and while Axalos looks like he can be a player, beyond those guys it look pretty bleak. I think Jaques is a fine game coach, but he and his staff need to ramp up the recruiting. They're bringing in some decent looking players next year, but no real bigs it seems.

Penn nearly threw away a 58-53 lead but with the score tied at 60, a total defensive breakdown gave penn an easy layup and harvard threw up a horrible brick on an open look for 3. Yale-Penn for the title.

Not suggesting it was decisive.  It wasn't.  We weren't winning this game.

I see Noard had a subpar game. With the height deficit-if he is not hitting-Cornell's hurtin'.  Defi itely agree with prior poster next year will be a challenge.  Jaques definitely needs to the portal or bring in a JUCO transfer or 2. Also in reference to BearLover-the reason that Cornell went to the current offensive philosophy which started under Earl-he knew he could not outrecruit HYP and the offense was a way to counter the talent advantage.

11 pts for AK in 19 minutes vs. 7 pts for Lee in 30 minutes

It's really heartbreaking to follow this team anywhere they go for Ivy madness and lose to Yale in a game that's never close every single year. We made the tournament 5 years in a row and only made the final once, never won, that just can't happen.

With all the seniors leaving it's hard not to feel like our window has closed, and our chance was in the last five years. I have no hope for the team in the near future, because there's just no talent. Really really upsetting loss for me.
