Final is 104-99 Columbia. While we haven't been a strong defensive team the past several years, this year we are simply atrocious. I've posted previously that I think our ceiling is 8-6 in the league, and today's result doesn't change that prediction.

Nimani's absence was noticeable today. Saturday's game is as much of a must win as a game can be this early in the season.

Cornell's opponents know they drive right to the hoop.  The lack of size was really telling in this game with Columbia denying inside shots especially in 2nd half.  Give Columbia credit as they showed excellent spacing on offense. Yes need to win on Saturday against Dartmouth.

Dartmouth ran out to a big lead while I was watching wrestling but with the first three baskets out of halftime, Cornell is up 59-55.

102-91 final. Not remotely that close. Feigen with 33 and Noard with 20+.

D didn't have their leading scorer so... even worse than it looks.

Wrote a massive rant that got deleted when I accidentally left the page. Not even gonna bother rewriting it. Such a fucking embarrassing performance when we host Ivy madness this year. The system and the players suck, not much you can do with that.

The team can score but cannot defend to save their lives.  2 Ivy losses at home-cannot see this team making Ivy tornament.

I know I'm just piling on at this point, but the Big Red have scored 90 and lost five times this year.  That's astounding.

Note that former Big Red Coach Bill Courtney just passed away.  Having met him a few times he was a very pleasant guy but he struggled recruiting the type of players to fit his "Dribble Drive" offenses at Cornell.

Bill was, by all accounts, a genuinely good person.  That's a real shame and way too soon.

Ready for Yale to put belt to our ass, but if we can somehow pull out a win that would be massive

ugarte

So far "belt to ass" is what's happening. 33-26  Yale at the 8 minute time out.

We're getting destroyed in transition and when we don't we settle into the worst zone defense of all time. Rafiq is the only guy playing with both brain cells and effort out there and he has the least ideal body for basketball in the world. At least our shots are falling so we're not completely out of it yet.

For the past few weeks any time the other team misses a shot is when we foul them. We fucking suck. Our system needs a center that can shoot threes and find cutters, that's why guys like Hansen and Ragland worked so well. Imegwu is the only one we have now that can shoot but he is such a liability with turnovers and on defense. Because we have nobody to hold the ball up and hit the cutters, nobody is cutting hard anymore, which exacerbates the problem and means we resort to chucking threes. God help us
