CAS

Cornell will have at least 4 drafted players on the '25-'26 team who didn't play for the Red last year (Veilleux, Fisher, Ashton, &
Devlin).  Wallace returns from injury.  We will be adding a large freshmen class (in addition to Vellieux).  DiGuilian, Long, Pirtle, & Hiscock all put up big numbers in juniors & will be at least 20 years old when the season starts.  It will be a different team, but on paper we should have a lot of talent.

Definitely liking our prospects!
Looking forward to seeing what this new group brings to the table and also looking forward to the anticipated growth of last years players.
I fully expect (pray, really) that everyone will make good use of the off season to work on strength training and skills work.
Time will tell who has taken advantage of the time
Roughly 120 days to go!! LGR!

There are two approaches to these forums: observational vs critical.  The observational approach is Montaigne. "Let us give Nature a chance; she knows her business better than we do."  The critical approach is Marx: "The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways. The point is to change it."

I'm content to just watch and enjoy.  I have no advice nor would I have any standing to offer it if I did.  I'm just happy Casey speaks French.

Watch as we become the Cornell Rouge, lol!

"Rouge cornaline grande."

All this chatter and nobody mentions to two very important returnees in Walsh and Major who I may have chatted with at the Lax Championship...watching Lax win had those guys fired up and in reload mode, not rebuild. It's going to be another stellar year on the Hill.  It's June, glass 3/4 full folks!

It was great seeing some of the guys supporting the LAX team! Didn't see Walsh but saw Major and Kraft. That was so much fun and the pregame tailgate was a blast

My glass is almost completely full until proven otherwise. Hockey is fun.

Not surprising. In a preseason video (you can find the link, either of eLynah or FanLax) about the lacrosse team, the interviewer asked them about their relationships with other athletes at Cornell. They answered that they have excellent relationships with other athletes, and hockey was probably the best because hockey & lacrosse have so much in common. Also, several members of the 2025 NATIONAL CHAMPION CORNELL LACROSSE (Oooh! That feels good!) played hockey before coming to Cornell. And I suspect the same is true about many hockey players having played lacrosse when they were younger.

My guess would be Walsh gets the C, Castagna and Stanley get A's

I stand corrected....it was Major and Kraft, my bad.  Too much fun celebrating the Natty!

Sounds right but who knows what goes on in the room

BearLover

I am registering a prediction that Castagna will be captain.

With the hope of sparking some conversation, here are my three biggest questions for our returning players next year.

1. Can Castagna put up points?
You don't have to watch too much of his game to see how he went in the third round but Castagna had not put up points for us like I would expect. If he can make the jump to challenge Walsh to be our top scorer that would be a massive help to the offense.

2. Can Major make the jump?
During the first half of last season I was infuriated with how weak Major was on the puck and how little he was getting on the stat sheet. The second half I thought he was excellent for a freshman and was an important piece down the stretch. If he can continue to develop and become a top line and powerplay mainstay, that takes a lot of pressure off the incoming freshman to put up big points.

3. What the hell is Sean Donaldson?
Donaldson has honestly had a fascinating Cornell career. The guy comes in to Cornell after dropping a ridiculous 70 points in 47 BCHL games. He puts up 10 points freshman year and looks poised to continue to develop into and important forward for the team. In his sophomore and juniors years though, he has played 26 games and put up 0 points. Not just that, but he singlehandedly lost us a game last year with his butt-ending antics in Hamilton. Can Donaldson play his way into the lineup sheet every week and be a senior presence for this team or will he have yet another disappointing year?
