Cornell rolls into Providence as a heavy favorite. Massey gives the Red an 84% chance of winning, by a most-likely score of 14-9. Sounds about right to me.

Brown is 3-6 with Ivy losses to Yale and Penn. Their wins are by 1 goal over UMass and Providence, and by 2 over Bryant, making them champs of Rhode Island. Yay!

Unless something goes horribly wrong, this should be a tune-up for the Red for the next two Saturdays of big games against the Orange and Crimson, which will be season-defining.

45 degrees and rain in Providence tomorrow. Not ideal weather for our style of game.

Is brown seriously starting their scout team? I get wanting to motivate your team to practice hard but come on.

3-3 tied first quarter.

Questionable defense on both sides. Cornell was beat twice by spin dodges. Brown didn't bother to guard Cascadden and let him receive a pass and trot to the front of the goal with the ball.

3-3 end of the first.

Brown is tightening up on D and making things tough. I think wet sticks are causing errant passes. Not the first time this year that's happened.

Nice job by Brown on our EMO. They scouted that pass across the front of the goal and shut it down.

Iceberg

Brown PBP guy going on his usual speech about how Cornell has big guys. I guess it extends to other sports too

mike1960

Cornell is moving the ball out of the timeout. That's what the guys need to do.

Beautiful set by Cornell after the time out. Used the sub game to create stress on the defense and found the X coming from the back of the net.

In the previous possession, Brown had a nice play out of the TO. Created a double-team on one side and sent it their shooter McClain on the other side. A good save by Wyatt prevented the goal.

8-6 Cornell at the half.

Can someone tell the announcers how to pronounce Cascadden's name. And let's scrap the close up weird angle on face-offs.

9-8 Cornell end of the third.

A lot of bad passes caused by wet sticks. Brown has done good work on CJ this game, but I expect he'll make his presence felt in the 4th. I would like to see more shots from Big Hugh down the alley.
