Setting up the game thread.  Want revenge on these guys and pepper Emmett Carroll with a ton of shots.  LGR!!

Penn is coming off an embarrassing home loss to Dartmouth, they are going to be feisty.

Because Penn has had way more success in recent years; they were the #3 seed in the NCAAs in 2022 (lost to #6 Rutgers in quarterfinals, who lost to #7 Cornell in the semis), while Dartmouth has been the Ivy doormat: in the past 10 years, their only previous Ivy win was over Harvard in 2023.

Penn also lost to #16 St. Joe's, which is 7-2 but lost it's only game against a highly ranked team (#11 Duke, 11-9). Penn lost 10-11, but I watched the game and didn't think Penn's play merited such a close score. St. Joe has a killer ride, and Penn kept turning over the ball.

Let's just say that their schedule has not been a Murderer's Row.  Dartmouth that is....

CU77

But Cornell also has plenty of motivation for this game: they lost to Penn twice last year, 10-11 in double overtime at Penn in the regular season, and then 9-13 at home as the host of the Ivy League tournament. That loss kept Cornell out of the NCAAs.

Ivy schedule is always difficult, no "easy" games. Fully expect Coach Buczek to have the team ready to play in all facets of the game for a full 60 minutes and avenge last year's losses to Penn(as mentioned by CU77).

Quote from: Alexis RogersIt's still unclear whether Long, who went down during last week's match with Yale and had to leave the game, will be able to take the field this weekend.

"He's day-to-day right now, but trending in the right direction," Buczek said. "Fortunately, we've got an incredible training staff that gets these guys ready to go and makes sure that they're safe and healthy."

Does this mean the April 12 game against Syracuse has been cancelled?

More likely just a mistake.

Less likely: Welcome to the Ivy League, Orange!

(They were actually invited, but turned them down, I hear)

Doesn't everyone say that tho? Lol

I had an employee that said Trenton state (now the college of NJ) turned down the offer as well.

That was the gist of my joke. Seems like every eastern & near-midwestern school older than 1956 has claimed that at one point or another. I don't think I've ever heard a Syracusian say that, but I would not put it past them.
