Miami whooped Michigan at home 8-3 and Minnesota got shutout by Maine 4-0 at the Maverick Stampede in Omaha's new stadium.  Two big, early upsets!

That's not all - Findlay took down Michigan State 4-3 in East Lansing, and Boston College was tied by Minnesota-Duluth (the Eagles won a shootout to advance to the Ice Breaker final).

O-VER-RATED! *clap clap clapclapclap*

I'm still fairly sure at least Minnesota, Michigan, and BC will be at or near the top of the PWR when it counts.  But, until then, we'll just have to relish what we can. :-D

Is next year here yet?

One upset does seem more immediately pertinent to us though - Western Michigan's impressing showing over Ferris State....

And since Western Michigan beat a highly ranked opponent, and SAY we beat them (twice?), that would help us out with PWR in the long run, right?

Will

It'll help more if WMU continues to beat highly ranked opponents, but yes, their one victory over Ferris State will help us, assuming we can get the two wins against them.

Additionally, unranked Notre Dame won at #14 Ohio State, who visit Lynah in November.

I haven't looked closely at the top ten, but isn't it more likely we'll get passed by Maine, especially if they beat Wisco today?
