That might have been the game.

Cornell ball. 4th and 3 from the 40ish. We need to match scores with Penn down 46-35. We ran a wheel route and the d back had it completely diagnosed and almost intercepted it for a pick six.

If Penn scores here, we'll be in a massive hole.

mike1960

Another missed Cornell tackle and the Penn receiver takes it in for a touchdown.

Penn 53-35 with 12:20 remaining in the game.

I just tuned in 15 minutes ago and all I'm watching is a Penn highlight reel

mike1960

Jameson has thrown three picks today. Two were improbable though.

Literally every play has been Penn dunking on us

mike1960

Come on, guys!

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Sometimes Jameson misses the easiest of passes, and at other times he threads the needle with perfect throws.

RichH

Ok, I saw us do good things and score. Good enough for me today.

Quote from: scoop8528-26 Cornell at the half on a last 2nd Penn FG. I have no idea what Swanstrom was thinking calling a timeout with 58 seconds left after we got a sack for a short loss, as Penn had no trouble taking advantage and marching right into FG range. I think our coach has a great future, but he has to realize he doesn't have the 85 Bears' defense out there, and that was an outright coaching blunder.

With Penn putting up at least 60 on us, that 1st half TO is even more ridiculous. But in the end it's doubtful it has any effect on the outcome

The TO cost us three points, not the game. The lack of good tackling bothers me, and the defense in general is getting pushed around, or finds itself out of place. Our defense will determine how well we do against Dartmouth and Columbia.

How many points and yards has our defense given up per game this year?

mike1960

When you score 49 points, you ought to win the football game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Coach Swanstrom replaces the defensive coordinator Jared Backus after the season.  He was a holdover from the Archer staff, and over the decade coaching here, his defenses haven't been very noteworthy.  That being said, until Cornell can have starters on the DL that are the equal in size to the rest of the Ivy League, it's going to be an uphill battle.
