Looks like MacDonald is going to be scratched for tonight's game: https://x.com/megangley/status/1904582664276906023

For a guy who had twenty one points in four years at Cornell I think it's incredible that he's on the verge of scoring thirty GOALS in a single AHL season.

It's the system!

Malott getting the call to LA!

And their next game is tomorrow against Colorado, so there's the potential for Malinski, MacDonald and Malott to all be playing! (And boy I just realized it would have been a nightmare for Grady/Jason if Malott, Malone and Malinski all overlapped.)

Malone, Malinski and Malott were all on the 2019-20 team.

Malott's in the lineup for the Kings against Malinski and the Avs on TNT tonight: scoreless after 1. Malott had a golden scoring opportunity (with Malinski on the ice) but couldn't put it away.

I live in Denver but happened to be in the Chicago area this weekend.  Avs games get blacked out at home -- it was great to see two alums playing in the same game!

And the temptation to head over to Toledo on Saturday is great -- the drive is less than 4 hours!  The question:  Do I take the 3 grandchildren I am babysitting, or do I leave them on their own?  After all, the oldest is 10 and good at babysitting her brothers on occasion....

Take all three! Time to indoctrinate!

I'm looking at flights to DTW, they're all $1000-1500 :(

TIL 1) Toledo is on the far side of Ohio 2) it's the same drive time (5:30) from Rochester as NYC is.  If I were still a childless bachelor...

I'm at today's Kings/Leafs game and Malott just got in an actual fist fight with a Leaf in the first. I'd call it a draw, but Jeff got some good punches in.

It was featured in the MSG 150 during the second intermission of the Rangers game.  Pidto mentioned that Malott went to Cornell.  He also did a nice job during the CU-BU hilites documenting Schafer and his retirement.  Did anyone on here know Pidto when he was at Cornell?

I got to know Bill during my junior year and Bill's freshman year when we both covered Cornell basketball, me for the Sun and Bill for WVBR. First time I heard him on the radio I could tell he had "it" as a sports broadcaster. One day either that year or the next he asked me to lunch, and we met at a long-gone pizza place in Collegetown. He said he had decided to go into sports broadcasting after he graduated but his parents were less than thrilled with the idea. I recall telling him that while I understood his parents' reservations about that career path, I thought he was the best college broadcaster I'd heard at Cornell or pretty much anywhere, and that in my opinion he should give it a shot. The rest is history.

Last year I was fortunate to take my son, along with another Cornell friend and his son, to the MSG studios after a Rangers game to see Bill in action doing the Rangers' postgame show. It was great to see him do his thing in person. He was and is a terrific guy.
