1. Wisconsin, hosts winner of (8-9)
2. Ohio State, hosts winner of (7-10)
3. Cornell, hosts winner of (6-11)
4. Minnesota, hosts 5. Colgate

6. Minnesota-Duluth
7. Penn State
8. Clarkson
9. St. Lawrence
10. Boston U.
11. Sacred Heart

Frozen Four hosted by Minnesota (Ridder Arena)

Fixed bracket, no re-seeding, right?

That's why, to me, getting up to 3 in the Pairwise was a big deal -- not having to face Wisconsin, potentially, until the title game.

Wisconsin is incredible this season but it gives us hope. 1-5 seeds are pretty set in stone by the pairwise but the committee can do some finagling for 6-11, although it would be hard to argue against maintaining bracket integrity this year, with the pecking order fairly stratified. I wonder if Clarkson and St. Lawrence could get save money sharing a charter flight out if they do get slotted in against each other.

If I remember right, the NCAA does all the travel arrangements for NCAA tournament play and there are have been times when teams headed in the same direction will be put on the same flight.

Here's an explanation of the tournament structure.
Thank you. Seems like getting a top 3 seed was nice.

Top 5: get a bye (huge upside)
Top 4: get to host quarterfinals (big upside)
Top 3: get to play against a team that had to play two(?) days prior, as opposed to 4 and 5 having to play each other (medium upside), and get to avoid Wisconsin until the final (small upside)

Committee swapped St. Lawrence with Boston U. (from a strictly pairwise-based seeding), surprisingly, but Cornell still slated to take on the winner of UMD-Sacred Heart

why did the ncaa bracket shows 13-16 and then all the games are 13 and 15th?

surprised they didnt spread this out a bit for coverage

+1, it really has been great.

Having all 4 women's semis on at the same time does not help with building the game?  that's a strange schedule

And it's a real bummer that our Regional finals game is at 4. Ending after 6 means you can't get to Colgate for the faceoff.

And that probably means reduced turnout for both.

If the men win on Friday, do I watch all of the women's on Sat, then leave for Colgate?

If the men lose on Friday, do I watch the women and leave in time to catch the men's start?

Decisions, decisions!

How much easier it might be if the women started at 3 or earlier. Then I could get to both.

Heaven knows in the men's NCAAs there are some different start times, arranged so that most games can be watched on TV.

its a big bball weekend.

I would think the women's games are being streamed so TV time isn't an issue

I see mention of ESPN+ for Semi/finals but nothing on the first weekend in the PR.

I posted similar thoughts in another thread.

I wonder if we could lobby Cornell to lobby the NCAA to start the women's game at 3:00 instead of at 4:00, to accommodate fans that want to see both in person.

no travel issues either. The teams are already in town.

Thanks for the shout - got both games. I'll give general updates on MinnD/SHU but I'll probably mostly watch that for the joy of puck. In my Cornell jersey, of course.

i have to ask, since i think you said you are from europe, which country sparked the joy of hockey (since i always mentally default to continental europe when i hear that but should probably be thinking scandanavia/eastern).

I mean, I have a mixer at the law school from 4 to 6, if I come with my Lynah bag and put my jersey in it and I dip at like, 5:45... perfect night :)
