Freshman goaltender.  He'll get better.

I agree with your assessment. In recent years Penn has been uncanny in winning 1 goal games, and when we couldn't put them away when we had them on the ropes we opened the door for them to do what they do.

Very frustrating loss.

It wasn't the goalie's fault. It was free hands in prime shooting areas, including the winning goal.

I don't know how far we're going this year.

We had multiple chances to win starting with 1 min left, and barely got a shot. Long was the one good chance in the first OT but shot over the cage.

The only insight that I have to offer is that the winning goal was scored when the ssd Gilmartin slipped and fell and allowed Rubin to shoot hands free.  Just a stroke of bad luck IMO.

That is true, but the score should not have been that close. Our talent level, at least on offense, is without a doubt higher than Penn's. It doesn't feel like we are maximizing what we have.

Agreed-I thought the offense was unstoppable but as others have opined Penn's D clogged up the inner passing lanes after the Red went up 6-2.
