SLU Band, since when? They don't even have a band when they play at home.

Quote from: newco113You're joking right? You all do realize that the 2 biggest draws in Lake Placid always have been SLU and Clarkson? It's actually not even close. I read the comment the other day about the "90% Q and Cornell fans" and chuckled. It's only an hour and a half from Canton to Lake Placid and, every time we play there, roughly half of the attendees are SLU fans. So, just letting you know, yes there will be plenty of SLU fans there.

The last time SLU was in Lake Placid, I recall there being a lot of their supporters in attendance, which would make sense given the proximity to Canton and Lake Placid being in the North Country

Quote from: pmbblblawSection 11 tickets are not available online at the Lake Placid Brooks Arena ticket office. I called the arena and the ticket rep said I needed to get Section 11 tix from the Cornell ticket office. I just called the Cornell ticket office; it is closed, only open Tuesday-Friday. Hmmm... how to get section 11 tickets today??? Am I missing something?

will we be able to get tix online? If so, at what website? Cornell ticket office or Brooks Arena? will the entire section be available? is it general admission or assigned seating? thanks.

yeah.. the AD does a great job of running this simple stuff.

In the old days they needed to wait for the paper tickets to show up to sell them.

did STH get an email?

if the Cornell section is not virtual that could be the hold up.. But still no reason that until 8pm people have no idea whats going on.

Quote from: jtwcornell91I miss UVM, who would probably be 4.5 on that list.

I sometimes wonder how things would have been for UVM if it stayed. It doesn't seem like the jump to Hockey East worked out for the program.

They were 60 seconds from a national championshipin the Frozen Four in 2009.  (Apparently I've swapped UVM and Miami--and presumably Milo and Brent Brekke--in my memory of that tournament.)

Last year as soon as the game ended a code was available (possibly on the scoreboard, but definitely, at a minimum, at the ticket office) that allowed us to purchase online, in the Cornell section, and at a small (perhaps $5 per ticket?) discount. When I asked about a code at the ticket office after the game on Saturday night I was told they did not have the info from Lake Placid yet.

I expect there will be a code, or a specific URL.

The ECAC just announced that the tournament will be staying in Lake Placid for the next two years.

For some perspective, horrors:

Neither Q, SLU, nor Dartmouth have anything on their website about tickets, just a link to the LP site.

Its almost like using virtual tickets has made this harder not easier?

in the way back machine they used to send out tickets ahead of time to the schools to sell once they won.

Has it gotten harder with tech running the show?

Yup, we are all in a panic about it too. I'm getting flooded with messages from friends and fellow fans about the ticket info and we know we are in Section 3. Just nothing yet on how to purchase tickets in that section. So, you're not alone, but it's so frustrating!

A reminder that this is a new league commissioner going through this for the first time. It's seeming like his administration has been caught flat-footed with the planning/timing.  Or maybe it's ORDA.

It's going to be hard not to reflexively refer to Shagwell going forward.

Tickets.

This.  The weekend is going to be 90% Q and Cornell fans.  The Q fans are going to leave after their game to either celebrate or slink back to Toilet-on-the-Connecticut.

We will have a half empty building to ourselves.

Advice: if you come without tickets get there early because LP has yet to get their shit together at the walkup office, and the lines get long. You'll get in but you don't want to miss the whole first period.

Curious, doesn't SLU travel well?  Such a short drive?  I would hope they would. Can't wait for Friday night! LGR!!
if everyone in canton goes, they could fill as many as two sections

I imagine townies from St Lawrence WILL travel this weekend, but unfortunately for their hockey team, many students will still be on spring break...
